Pretty quiet around here. Anyone been out fishing? Coming up for a couple days next week. Anyone still downrigging? Going to bring the riggers but hoping the jig bite is on.

It has been REALLY quiet in this forum since the site changed the format.  I thought it was actually kinda funny when admin posted that LOTW posts were up 64% from last year????  Really?  We go days without a single new report on here now.

There are LOTS of people out fishing, but very, very few sharing any news.  The east winds have been kinda messing with the bite, but fish are being caught all over the place.  They're running up the river with the shiners, but it isn't a full on run yet.  The current is way down in the river again this year, so I'm not expecting the bite to be gang busters this year.  But the lake bite has been good when the wind isn't blowing out of the east.

Should be a GREAT weekend on the lake with really nice temps!  Might be a little blustery though?  I just wish we could have October for about 6 months each year instead of just one!

Thanks Sam. Maybe the cooler weather next week and a change of wind will kick in the bite. Either way its always fun up there. At least with some shiners running up river there should at least be a few more fish in the river in case the wind picks up on the lake. Got a spot reserved for next year at the camp ground by the river so will be up there a lot more next summer.

we fished the river sun, mon, tues and it was horrible….really slow.  fished the lake wedn and friday and caught plenty of fish to keep us busy in about 24' of water.  the better fishing was in 30' supposedly as there was a huge pile of boats in 30'.     we are vacationers and one our way out we saw plenty of boats in the river,  and plenty of boats out in 4 mile bay as well looks like they were fishing in that 15 ft of water to the west of the marker bouys.   a few fishing just directly behind curry's island right next to the gap in 12-15'.

a few smaller slots and a lot of small saugers in between our occasional 15-17" walleye.   nothing in the `18-19" range on the lake for us.    we did catch 6 hog perch the last day.

oh and lol at this forum saying posts are up.   this forum and the open water forum are all i really use and both are deader than doornails since the switch.
