Mississippi Pool 4 backwaters

Hi all, been awhile. My wife and I are headed to Everts in Hager City for another 3 day fishing adventure. Does anyone fish the backwaters? Were going to run up to Goose Lake and try and find pike, bass, and panfish. QUESTION....Is it too early to fish up in there? From what I read it's great ice fishing. My gut tells me they won't be up in there quite yet. Any incite would be great! Thanks all!

Not too early.  I have not been up there personally but the crappies are starting to pick up all over the river.  Another place to try is Point No Point and the Maiden rock areas.

Thanks Mike! We fished back there, Goose mostly. We did not do well. There were a lot of people in there though. Saw a few walleyes caught. It was 88 on October  10-11-15!
