Was wondering if anyone had any reports from Lida? Heading up there the first week of August. Was wondering how the fishing has been this year? Heard that the water is up a bit?

The water is higher than it was this spring, but still lower than it had been the last few years.  Fishing has been outstanding this summer.  Everything from minnows to crawlers to leeches are getting bit.  By August, you should start to see walleyes up off the bottom.  Bottom bouncers with spinners should work as well as pulling deep diving crankbaits over these fish.  Slip bobbers off the humps could be productive too.  The water has seemed to be clearer than in the past.  Maybe due to the zebra mussels.  Make sure to take care in cleaning your boat if you plan on lake hopping.

Thanks. I figured we would try pulling some deep diving crankbaits. Seemed like last year we got a few walleyes and they seemed to all be in about 16-20 ft of water. Althought we did get a few while fishing for crappies near the cabbage in about 8 ft of water. Never had a whole ton of luck with the walleyes on this lake, just the panfish, bass and northerns. I will report back on how we do.

Any reports on the bite?  Don't need specifics,  just general info.  Thanks
