Pickerel Lake

Anyone ever fish the lake in Lilydale near the river? I know when the warmer days of summer come along it doesn't take long for this lake to become a lily-pad and seaweed nightmare, but spring and fall seem to be fairly open. I'm thinking of bottom fishing for cats sometime this week. Any experience here? Thanks.

My uncle and grandpa used to fish this lake a lot in the 80's and 90's. Used to be a hammer handle factory. Supposedly winterkills and floods every so often, so just about anything could be swimming in there at any given time. If you had a couple hours to kill before chasing cats, could be worth a shot.
