I have been thinking about fishing the river by the Cedar access in my Stealth 2000. I don't know much about that area or river fishing in general. For those of you that know that style of boat and that area of the river, do you think that rig is safe or is it too small?

You can do it in any size rig, as long as you are strong enough and able to paddle upstream. That's a powerful river even without big spring run-off. Make sure that you have a safety plan in place if you can't control your boat.

I have a 40# trolling motor on it that I think should do the job. I was down there looking on Saturday and the current didn't look too fast. Of course we did just get a fairly good rain last night so things may have changed. Thanks for the input.

crappie - did you ever go out? I'm considering going out in a 12 foot jon with a 40# trolling and 6 hp evinrude. I'm thinking about trying the Picnic Island ramp in fort snelling state park.
