Game Camera SD lockup

Reads SD card lockup on my Moultrie game camera. Tried everything from reformatting, cleans Sd slot etc. no luck. I guess this is common with Moultrie camera's. Also I understand after warranty is of and they are made in China they usually will not fix them?

Any ideas how to fix camera's?

Camera is 2 years old.

How long do your camera's keep on working?

I'm unclear if it's a problem of the card being stuck, or an electronic problem. If it's electronic, and the solution above doesn't work, try a hard reset:

*Make sure your camera is Off

*Take out SD card and batteries

*Turn to “ON” with no batteries.

*Let sit for five minute.

*Turn “OFF”

*Put batteries back in and new Class 4 Sandisk SD card.

*Turn back on and rock and roll.

Thanks guys,but no luck.

Tried different disc, reformatted, new batteries the works no luck.

One individual had luck by putting a piece of paper on the back side of a disc for tighter fit-worked for him. Tried that also.

Air blew out the disc slot-no luck.

Maybe it is just electronics and won't read disc's anymore?

Man, those are rock star cameras when they work. I've got two. One is in the shop now. I've been hearing a lot of trouble with M-880s. I like the one I have that's working. I am not looking forward to trying a different camera if they both go to pot.

Cameras eventually do go bad, they're out in the weather for months, and we all try to buy as cheaply as possible. Throw it in the dead camera pile and get another one. I have two Leaf Rivers and two older Moultries in my dead pile but I still like the Moultries, I have five of the D55's, both IR and regular, they just keep taking pictures. Hint - they keep coming out with new models every year, do an internet search on the ones being replaced, you can usually find them at a discount. I bought most of my D55's for <$100 each.

Try different SD cards, some brands work better than others, do not use a micro sd. Reformat card before putting it into the camera. Some Moltries are very touchy with the brand of card you use, mine was a P.O.S. but others have had good luck.

Went in to Lucky 7 to get some crappie minnows today. All they had were crappie minnows and fatheads. She said to call in advance for the opener, couldn't say for sure if they'd have rainbows, shiners, etc for opener!

Been out couple times this last week. Between the rain and wind there really was only one day this past week where it was actually warm out fishing.  Water temps are low mid 50s yet, not much change from last week.  Fish are still holding out off the first break on some area lakes and right up in the boat channels and back bays of others.   Been keeping it pretty simple as far as tackle used. Having the best luck with the lil hustler tubes under a small float or throwing the Bobby Garland baby shads with a 1/32 jig head.  The Bobby's have definitely been my big fish catcher this spring.

The water looks low but appears to be on the rise. We will be there  the week after opener. I have been going since 1981 and enjoying the experience. We love the variety of fish we catch and release each year. Ice went out a bit earlier than in years past. Water may be warmer and plan to target some crappies. We fish predominately in Sand Point as we camp. Good luck all and tight lines. We may consider the hike to Lake Lucille which we did 2 years ago.

On an off light precipitation today. Hoping the weather this weekend will be nice so I can get out and crappie fish and check the weather. My yard has standing water and the driveway is a mess. Lot of lakes are near standard water levels which is good. Heard they are done stripping eggs on cut foot. Shaping up to be a good opener. Last year fished open water 60+ days and 28 different lakes. Hopefully bump both those numbers up this year
