I need to go out there and pick up all the props and lower units when it gets drained! I know of at least one prop on the bottom... frown

The crappies are still there!   I drove by the other night and folks were catching limits from shore.

Were they of the 7 inch variety?

Give the lake two years it will be back to having some reasonable fish.  I drove past the lake to my measurement, the lake has not moved, (Not lower even with the channel dug out). They also can only pump xx amount of water with out flooding those down stream.

If there are little ones that means there is a chance some bigger ones made it as well. You just never know what will be on the end of your line.

Add a 1 in front of that 7. Put some corn on that hook and hold on tight.....

The lake is down several inches. This picture is at the outlet, taken yesterday.

There were thousands of small fish (couldn't tell what they were) trying to swim back up the channel.

Anyone gonna give this lake a try this winter? I believe I heard the water levels are still normal? I'm considering giving it a shot on the way home from the in-laws' after Christmas. Gotta be a few pike and crappies left. How fast can crappies grow in 1 season with limited competition?

Not sure, just hoping we get some fish-able ice by then.  Everything that had ice opened back up yesterday in the wind.

You could try it out there JB I don't think it would be worth it though....

I probably won't try it. I fished it once this summer and caught 5 small pike, 12-17inchers. So there are some little ones left. Saw little to no panfish surface actiiviy, though I didn't actually fish for them. I just think at this point, it is alot of water to search, for not so many fish.  I did also try once last year thru the ice and didn't mark a thing, big or small. Only tried an hour though.

Did the lake winter kill last winter, or 2 years ago?

Winter of 2013-2014.

I saw a few guys out there today off the main launch. I measured about 3in there, a little thin for me to go any further. Saw a few minnows swimming right there, at least there is bait for the few fish!
