River north of Stillwater

Thinking of trying north of Stillwater for opener and hoping to get in on some mixed species action. My only concern would be safety since I haven't been on this stretch with a boat before. However, it almost sounds like a good idea!

Anyone have any pointers on fishing (whitebass/walleye) and safety since the river's faster/shallower?

Thinking perhaps launch from Will O'Brian?

Went down to check Osceola Landing Last night and OH my gosh the water is high and fast. and IT IS CLOSED, the gate is locked and the road to the launch is under water. Interstate park I think is the next possible location, also the WI side Park I think is closed for boat launching under water. Everyone going out be careful and NO WAKE. the water was fairly cold I got only 42 degrees. I would call William O'brian park to make sure they are open before heading there.

I haven't been by WOB but both interstate parks accesses are closed so WOB is probably under as well. The river is well past the trees. Not sure any access around would be open
