How are the lakes looking for opener around the blackduck area? Do you think they will be ready to go?

Island Lake is still locked up but it is pulling away from shore in most places a little bit. I think it will be out by opener but it will be close. If I had to guess it will go out on Thursday or Friday. The DNR is busy stripping walleye at Cut Foot Sioux. Always cool to stop and watch that.

Island was iced over on Saturday morning when we arrived at our cabin. My official ice out would be about 5:00 PM on Saturday. We spent the day watching the ice melt and then fished hard on Sunday with very minimal results.

I want to fish some quieter waters with a buddy on Saturday. What's the latest on Blackduck? Has anyone here fished this week since opener?
