Snowblowing a parking spot off a plowed road

Anyone have any luck snowblowing a spot for there wheel house off a plowed road? I know that plowed snow can get very hard so not sure if it's possible. Bought a toy hauler style house and thought it would be slick to just haul a good snowblower, like a wide one with tracks.

You could try it but it could be really tough on your snow blower. Even V plows have a hard time with berm snow.

I think you'll probably have to loosen the snow bank with a shovel.

Then because of the insulating factor of the snow bank you can't be sure on ice depth under the snow bank. Good chance you might run into slush as well under the snow bank. Slush and snow thrower is a bad combination and worse in freezing temps. Still doable of you tip back the thrower above the slush layer. Easy to do with wheel drive but a track drive not so easy to tip back. Lastly, when the plow truck passes by you'll have the plow bank to remove and again you'll have to break it up with a shovel. Note that on big lakes V plows travel at higher speeds to throw the snow well off to the side. If your house is within 50' of the road it'll could get buried. smile

If I relate it to a driveway, where they leave that windrow,I like to get to it soon as possible. Before the moisture accumilated and artifically placed set's to ice. With a decent blower thats gone,If it sets to icier a shovel helps to break the iced snow. That all depends when you get to the snow windrows.Just try it,You'll be able to pass along info to help others.

I had to do that all winter. We had so much snow it was the only way I knew I would be able to get my shack off at the end of the season. We have a guy that plows a road on local lake. I paid him to plow around my shack once. After that I just went out after every snow and snowblowed around it and did the bank he left when he did the road past me. I did it with a small toro that I can lift into the back of my jeep. Wasn't to bad.
