Speaking of accuracy Juneau4, did you Say Matt Blair in your earlier post?

My mistake-the fingers typed Blair instead of Birk.

This guy is the armpit of society. What a scum bag....

Chris Kluwe and his legal representation aren't taking the news that Minnesota Vikings special teams coach Mike Priefer will be retained lightly. Kluwe contends that Priefer played a significant role in the punter's release from the team, which Kluwe says was due to his open stance in support of LGBT rights. The St. Paul Pioneer Press contacted Kluwe's lawyer, Clayton Halunen, who said that legal action will be brought against the Vikings:

"It's unbelievable to us. It shows that the Vikings are not sincere about this supposed investigation, that it's a mere charade, and at the end of the day they're going to cover up this... It's just a matter of when we begin litigation. That's the only question in my mind now. Do we immediately file suit or do we wait and see if we get the confirmation we get from their supposed investigation?"

It could be an ugly offseason in Minnesota.

It's clearly a vendetta (against Priefer) on Kluwes part.

Same article or "release" also said that if the Vikings had NOT retained Priefer that the suit would've been dropped.

Kluwe simply wants Priefer to lose his job...period. He could care less what was said or wasn't in that meeting. If he did care, the litigation would move forward against the Vikings regardless of Priefers employment status with the team.

What a F'n joke.....

After the case is thrown out, I hope the tables get turned and Kluwe is sued for defamation of character!

Gotta say I'm glad Kluwe was cut, he is a putz as this all shows. And our rookie last year did admirably and was a better fit for the team........so it was only because Kluwe was outspoken?????

...so it was only because Kluwe was outspoken?????

It was only because Kluwe was too expensive.

That's par for the course for punters and place kickers in the NFL. If you're in the league long enough your contract gets too expensive and you get cut. Same thing happened to Longwell - based on his productivity there was no reason to essentially give him the boot. But if you can pay a guy far less, for similar production - you have to. Especially for a punter - it's one of the easiest positions on the roster to replace.

In fact, if this ever gets to court - I believe the Vikings will point to the way they handled Longwell as evidence they had no vendetta against Kluwe. The situations are nearly carbon copies of each other.

Yep, that's what I meant sorry......he is an older less effective model. Exchange him for the new shiny one that we have now.

Actually his performance dropped off considerably the last 3 years for percentage of punts inside the 20 and his hang time numbers were off too.

If Kluwe is still that good, let me know which teams fought over signing him after he was cut? What team does he play for now?

Kluwe is a tool and needs to go away!!! Saw CNN had him on yesterday to talk about this player that declared he is gay...

He probably camped in front of their headquarters upon hearing about that player coming out, until they agreed to put him on the air if he said he'd go away.

Kluwe plays for who?

He is a medicore former NFL punter that craves the spotlight so he jumps on the deviant sexual lifestyle bandwagon to stay in the spotlight.

Homosexuality is an afront to nature.

So now that some of the findings of this investigation are coming out we have learned: if you are not kluwe you are not able to mock or make jokes but if you are kluwe and you mock or make insensitive remarks you can just say "I was joking" or tweet "#sarc" and its OK.

Kluwe you are a hypocrite please just go away.

Whats wrong with cutting out the a$$ of your pants and pretending to be a rape victim?

This guy is one of the sorriest, most pathetic human beings on the face of the planet. There is something wrong with his head. No doubt he will drag this on until the end of eternity.

How about the Vikings coach that clearly lied about what he said? Most HR departments would push for dismissal of a clown like that. Three game suspension which will end up being two is a joke.

I couldn't care less about the punter, but this coach is a moron and just an example of why players are afraid to come out in public.

Getting an unpaid suspension is pretty significant in my eyes.

Kluwe is a hypocrite. The only reason this even came to light is because he lost his job. He should have come forward right away and certainly not stooped to the level he is now being so outspoken about.

Kluwe thought he was a big shot until no one picked him up and now realizes he was just a punter.

Yep, that is what it boils down to. If he had stayed employed in MN or elsewhere, we wouldnt be hearing about any of this right now. Perhaps in a book that the attention whore will write later, but not now.

I am not condoning what Prieffer said by any means, but the right thing to do was address it WHEN it happened.

Its ironic that he chose to mock a Penn State Alum since that was a situation where folks had the opportunity to say something early and failed to do so as well.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭
    • Rick G
Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
