Ice Status

Cedar is a scary lake to drive on at any time in the winter, people don't realize there are a lot of springs and a lot of areas around the islands that are not safe, at all.

Driving out there already? That guy is a lot braver than me! If you do drive make sure to stay away from any islands, especially the one to the left out of the main access. It seems every year a truck goes through that spot.

Cars and trucks all over Mazaska last night. Measured 12" where I was, didn't change much from hole to hole. Plugged a lot of smaller crappies for about a half hr, one nice 13 inch, and one small eye. Went in shallower for an hr before I left for some eyes but no go, didn't even mark anything. I think I was a little too late for them.

Anyone been out on East Jefferson? How the access and general ice conditions?

The landing on east jeff is drifted with about a foot of snow but there is a path from people driving through it. I was only out around the sunken island near the landing and measured 13" of ice with a tape measure. I did not venture out further onto the lake but there were smaller trucks out there.

I was on Roberds near Faribault yesterday and measured 13 inches where I was fishing.

Yes the ice making has slowed down... But the cold is back!!!

Pretty solid 20+ on most lakes. Lakes with aerators be careful of. Scotch, Circle, etc.

Matt most of the lakes with aerators are marked around the aerators correct? I know they are on clear and they used to be on Scotch.

There are 2 aerators on Elysian
