Lake Superior Report June, 15

Recommended Posts

finally got in at McQuades landing about 8:30 and fishing by 9:00

First two fish in 93 fow just west the Lester 19 inch coho's on the F-11 firetiger floating raps. Had the big boards out about 75 ft running 100 back and 75 back. I pulled both riggers out as nothing was active below 20ft. then lost a fish we never got ot see most likely a laker again on the firetiger rap in about 95 fow water was a little muddy be not bad. Got out to 110 fow when the outside line went off and during the fight I saw the inside line same side off and pounding. Got both fish 10 and 12 lber's on on the tiger again and the other on a new clown clacking rap. Did'nt pull 50yrds and hooked up a nice 4 lb'er on the F-ll orange floater inside line 75 back. Went back over the same area and nothing. Pulled to 113 fow when the reefrunner went off and lost a nice laker at the back of the boat. Five minutes later the clacking rap smacked another 8 lb'er.

went back to the Lester and picked up a small coho on firetiger husky jerk. and then another coho 15 min later. to fill out the limits and day. Was an awesome day and I'll post some pics when I figure out the phone to home to photobucket to forum thing.

ended up 10 for 14 no kings.

Sorry to make it sound like there was an app for that...

When you click to post, there's an upload "button" 5th from the left (brown house looking thing with a blue arrow). Click on that and follow the prompts. It'll let you browse your photos on your I4. It takes a little while to load a photo but it gets er done. There's no need for a photo hosting site like Photobucket; this done through the HSO site.

After you do your first, you'll say "Wow, that was easy" grin

Bruce it looks like you had a fun day!!!

The one thing about Superior is you never know what type of fish will be at the end of the line. I am always hoping for a big King grin Will settle for little Coho

That's the coolest thing about LS. On Burntside, I always know what'll be on the end of the line when I'm after lakers. I just don't know when it's gonna happen. On LS, many more possibilities!

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
