Bypass on south end of lower Red Lake

Does anyone have any idea when they'll have the road back open on the south end of lower Red? I understand they're replacing a bridge somewhere along that route?

Little heads up....coming from the west that detour adds a chunk of time to the drive, and there are a few sections in there that are pretty rough. Not terrible, it's all black top, just wondering when it might reopen?

Which highway are you referreing to? I am coming up from DL this saturday. I will be heading north out of Bemidji on TH 71 and then onto 72. Any delays on that route?

I think he means the redby highway/route

The Redby bridge is open to traffic, just head north on the Ponemah road and take a right at jensens

(Battle River Store) follow Cty rd #23 to south shore drive.

So can a person go straight thru now? The signs at the detour stated that the road was closed to thru traffic.

If my memory serves me correctly that bridge is almost right on the lake. How would driving north on the Ponemah road bypass this area?

There are 2 bridge projects on US Hwy 1....The bridge in Redby (Mud lake) and the bridge 5 miles east of the east reservation boundry (Blackduck river bridge). The blackduck river bridge is closed until late sept., you can take the detour closer to the blackduck river but in goes south and adds another 20 mins to your trip....the ponemah route is shorter.....this is just what I've notices, hope this helps. feel free to call me with any questions, I take this route twice a week.
