thrax
The Bemidji/Cass Lake Chapter 46 Muskies Inc tournament will be held on Saturday June 15th. This is a fully CPR tournament (catch/photo/release). We'll have thousands of dollars in prizes to give away via raffle at the tournament awards/feed at the end of the tournament. As of now we’ve got 9 guide trips to give away also! If you've never been to one of our tournaments they are a great time, family friendly and fishing is allowed on 4 of the best muskie lakes in all of MN. Lakes Bemidji, Plantagenet, Cass and Big are all tournament waters. Fishing begins at 5am and goes until 4pm with the feed/awards beginning at 5pm. Entry fees are only $45 for adults and $25 for juniors (under 18) for entries received by June 1st. After June 1st the entry fee go up $5 respectively. This year we’re proud to announce we have ONLINE tournament registration and payment. This is pretty cool and we’re not sure that anyone else has this! There are cash prizes for 1st-4th place and also for the biggest fish for both adults and juniors. We proudly donate a scholarship to the Aquatic Biology program at Bemidji State University each year with tournament proceeds. This year’s minimum scholarship donation will be $1000, with that amount increased by funds generated through our “Chapter Challenge” feature. The after tournament feed is put on by the area Boy Scout chapter. Registration is still open. You can register by mail or at the following locations locally (in addition to the online registration). thrax
Tough bite is right! Weather changed, wind was low, sun was bright, but it was still a fun day! 74 contestants caught only 3 qualifying fish, the winner came from Lake Bemidji and was a 52.5 monster caught by Kyle Knock of Big Wood Musky Lures. His partner and captain Duff Thury caught a 40.5, their boat got 2 of the 3 qualifying fish, trolling Supernatural baits. Duff's fish was good for third place. Adam Manz, a very nice young man also caught a 52 while casting on Plantagenet. No fish were registered from Big or Cass Lakes. Lots of anglers had hookups and lost fish and followers were out there, just not able to convert them to biters. Thanks to all who came and fished the tourmament, we hope to have you back again next year.
