cell phone coverage

Can anyone give me your opinion regarding AT&T coverage on LOW? Thinking of switching carriers but I don't want to lose service there or on Upper Red.

I have a iphone with AT&T and get good service most places. Long point is kinda a dead area but i don't fish that area very often. I fished at Whiskey flatts on monday had 4bars and was able to use internet. Service is sketchy when in the 16 mile reef area and north from there. zipple bay to pine island is good. I don't fish Adrians road so how it is there when you get up north. I think all carriers have some issues when you get off shore to far.

I had full bars on Red, LOTW was a little sketchy when we go away from shore on Adrian's.

Be careful up there using your cell phone. I was at Wheelers point fishing last spring and used my cell phone to give some friends reports. I didn't know it at the time and was pulling my signal from a tower in Canada and got charged big time. Your phone will draw the closest signal.

At&T is good a grabbing canadian towers. I think the people with i-phones have good luck, but people with regular phones not so good.

Good points thanks. My current carrier has no roaming fees anywhere. Need to verify if AT&T has that option

I switched from ATT to Verizon to get better coverage from north of Grand Rapids to LOW. Not sure if ATT has improved since then. You can shut off roaming in your settings so you don't get a Canadian tower and a bill.

I 2nd the Verizon.Had At&t Longpoint 16 mile not good. Switched to Verizon Lots better!!

I've got Verizon now, and always good coverage. 30.00 less per month with unlimited Internet, voice mail and texting and upgrade on phone for just .99 cents. Hmmm have to think about this.

Most everyone around Roseau/Baudette that had At&T switched to Verizon because of the poor coverage. A friend of mine still has it and gets better coverage in odd places but overall Verizon is better in my opinion.
