april 5th weekend?

Was thinking of heading up april 5th do you think it will be a sloppy slushy mess and not worth it or should we give it a shot we would have a snowmobile also

It's really hard to say right now eye. Looks like we're in for a little warm up in the next few days, then perhaps a cool down again next week?

The sun is so high now, even with temps below freezing it's still melting some snow. That sun doesn't mess around this time of year!

I'd give it a shot. Worst that will happen is you'll get some great exercise outside and a good sunburn!

The pike are going good now. Just chase pike and you'll have a blast...all wet or not!

Thanks sam I like your attitude my buddy and I are still trying decide between lotw or take the boat down to red wing and go for some eyes and saugers in pool 4 on the mighty miss. Tough decision the latest fishing reports scare me a bit but you would think it would turn on by then.

Some melting the next few days, then below freezing for highs early next week, and mid/upper 30's again by next weekend.

It's only going to get more sloppy, but there isn't any rain or 50's in the forecast. With all the snow on the land and a big ice block keeping the snow on the lake cold it's going to be a nice, gradual melt.

Fishing late ice can be phenominal. It's nice when you can get a facetan and sit around in sweat shirts. Fishing will have to turn on sooner or later.

saw a few trucks out of springsteel this past weekend, but they couldn't get off the road much if at all. Lots of snow and some areas of slush still. Snomobiles are the way to go right now, and it'll stay that way for next 2 weekends in my opinion. good Luck. taz
