It is kind of hard to find back waters up stream of Henderson Mn. It is all main stream from there up.White Bass are in the area. There is good channel cat fish fishing in the eddies and all the drum you can want. Find rockie bottom areas (shallow moving water) for Suckers.

With spring run off and faster moving waters in this area (St Peter/Mankato) I would look to lakes for Crappies.

Iceman, I suggest a canoe trip from new Ulm to Judson. That's a long stretch, plan on hitting the water early am. Float it and bring a rod.

Or Judson to mankato stretch.

Good way to learn the river. Fun and scenic too.

Mankato to 7 mile creek or 7mile to st peter.

I've done all of them in canoe and boat. Bring your flasher.

If you would like to borrow a canoe send me a pm. I've got 2in my backyard. Would even sell one for real cheap. I might be interested in floating one of those stretches with you too if you want.
