Lake Francis Fishing Reports Lake/Ice Conditions?

Thinking about pulling a midsize wheelhouse out to Francis with a Durango maybe tomorrow. Was wondering about the ice conditions? Haven't had the chance to drive by the lake to see if anybody with houses out there. My work is the other direction where Frances lake is.

Thoughts?

i hope you can swim, i was informed of only 8" of ice as of tuesday,in the deeper water. not a good idea. o.k. with a 4 wheeler.

I was out there about a week ago and had 9-10 inches. There was some moran pulling his fishhouse out with a blazer. He was driving literally 50-60 mph. If he reads this, I would like to inform him, he is the dumbest SOB this side of the Mississippi.

He was roughly 500 yards away from us and water still came splashing up the holes like you dropped a cinder block down the hole. He was lucky he didn't die.

I'll wait another week or so. I'll be pulling a 4 wheeler with a flip over. After all it's supposed to be nice this weekend! 30's! Hole hopping sounds like fun! smile

I was on the lake last night it didn't look any thicker than 10 inches at the most to me. There were guys driving out there but they are just playing russian roulette in my opinion!

I wouldnt drive on this lake for another couple weeks. It spots it has really good thick ice then out of no where in thins out. I think on the NW access there is running water that runs from the reed line accross the lake. Be Safe and Not Sorry! Plus its supposed to be a nice weekend! We could all use a little exercise haha

I have moved the permy 6 times over the last few days,still looking for a good bite. found good ice everywhere i drilled.

I had lots of lookers and no takers when I was out. 1 flag went up on a tip up that had bait stripped but nothing iced.

ice measured 12-13.25 in all places i drilled on saturday & sunday.fishing slow for us.12 crappies took us 20 hrs total fishing. 2 little pike out deep & 1 shallow.

Haven't been that way in a while, how has the ice been, and what's the bite like on Francis?  

 

I'm about 3 hours away but always limes fishing off carpenters point.

Ice on the east end was still 14" Saturday night but getting quite soft. There were a few wheelers running around, bite was slow.

      Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

      It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

      Another prediction.   Under the cloud of "Woke Inclusion" Just like the Mn state flag and the Mn Twins, the Vikings name will be going away in a few years! Their already making them look like Snow flakes!  We can't have the uniforms of angry Norwegian people!  Sounds funny but. Wait for it! 😒

      New frontiers.  Expand the market; make more money.  Despite some PR moments, they’re not in it for charity.   BUT, they might want to take a moment and see how that worked out for NASCAR.  Not that having to buy premium channels to watch races was the only problem but it sure helped kill the fever for a lot of people.
