Hows the road looking for traffic? Comeing up next friday with a half ton Suburban. I promise I will drive slow.

Fish are a captive audience. They will still be there when you arrive, even if you are driving 15 mph. Safety first, fish second. Don't screw it up for the sane people. Boar good to talk with you the past couple of days. Good luck to you and your family this weekend

Roger, Im coming up in march with 3 others, if we have full pkgs with meals, what will it cost to go to the reefs for a day?

Nice work on the road Roger. It's wide and rides pretty nice all the way out.

We fished NE of the 3 mile off-shoot and found between 16-18.5" of ice.

ROAD CLOSED! As of 1/1/13 at 8am a crack opened on our ice road. The crack is large and isn't currently passable. We are working on a detour, but this may take a day or two.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will let you know as soon as it is reopened.

We have moved our bridge and are now spanning the new crack. So we are allowing people to come up with 1/2 pick-ups or smaller. Still no Suburban, Tahoe or 3/4 ton vehicles. We will also allow you to pull your wheel houses out.

We are asking everyone to keep their speed at 20 MPH and a safe distance between vehicles.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Great advice Roger. I wish people knew how much speed hurts the ice. Think about that wheeler or sled driving past your spot during early ice.

The water coming up your holes is from the pressure. That pressure raises heck on the weak spots on the ice. If there is no where for the pressure to go, it tears up the ice.

It only takes a couple extra minutes to get off the ice at a reasonable speed folks.

Please slow down & enjoy the greatest sport Winter has to offer.

Great job. This was my first time to your resort and left impressed. I was on the road . 0530 and didn't notice any problems besides a couple of trucks in a hurry. When I left at noon I went over the bridge with a 16' wheel house and just had enough clearance. Good thing for saugers and tullipe to keep a guy busy.

We are now allowing 3/4 ton pick-ups out! We are not allowing 1 tons, suburbans, or excursion size vehicles yet.

Fishing in the morning has been slower, but the afternoon bite has picked up greatly. Good #'s and sizes of sauger, with some eyes mixed in.

Don't forget, we sell live chubs, frozen shiners, tackle...and have a full bar and restaurant!

Stay safe and happy fishing!

Walleye woman: just a clarification isn't a 3/4 ton p/u bigger than my k1500 Yukon XL? Just asking not complaining. Keep your reports coming

I was going to ask the same question. I think the 3/4 pickup is actually heavier than my Yukon XL.

I was going to ask the same question. I think the 3/4 pickup is actually heavier than my Yukon XL.

I looked it up and the Suburban has a curb weight of 5800# and the 2500HD reg cab is 5600# and then depending on cab style and box size, goes over 6000# so the suburban/yukon xl are actually less weight.

I am not trying to 2nd guess Roger by any means. Their road, their call. I will respect it either way.

Our road is now open to all vehicles! Please drive slow and follow the posted route.

Fishing over the last few days has been inconsistent. 33' has been the best depth. Using a glow jig with frozen on one line and a dead stick with live chub is still producing results. There are still many small sauger to pick through. When the walleyes hit they are usually nice sized eaters or even slot fish. Be persistent and use electronics to get the best results.

Thanks for everyone's patience and understanding. Happy fishing!

I slept out on the lake Fri., Sat., and Sunday about 200' from the road I was amazed at how fast everyone was going including one clown that was going at least 50mph plus the water was almost splashing up on the floor of the shack. What is the freaking hurry?
