Nothing personal BigDave...But, I'm really glad someone knocked Alabama off their high horse. They deserved to lose today.

Who cares about all Alabama's meaningless wins? Can they beat the best? Jut another second pace team... Whoopee

GoodLuck!

War dam Eagle!!!! Probably the best game ever (I might be biased though). Brings back fond memories of my grad school days on the Plains. Too bad Michigan didn't make the 2-pt conversion.

Unfortunately, the SEC BCS run might be over. I will be puling for Auburn, MSU, and Duke next week.

War Eagle, Baby!!!!!

What a great game! I thought it was over for sure when McCarron threw that TD from the 1 yard line! And here I thought auburn's miracle TD against georgia was the play of the year! Missouri will be a tough game, but auburn's muscle should push them through. I just can't see ohio state beating michigan state next week.

Come on, you guys can do better than that!!!!!

I've been spouting off about Alabama for years, I thought you guys would have some better material ready to go. I think even you guys never thought it would happen! grin

May not be my favorite team but I can still take comfort in the fact that the 2 best teams in college football still come out of the state of Alabama. Why can't the state of Minnesota produce 1 good football team in 30 years? confused

As much as I love seeing Alabama lose, I also want to see the two best teams in the country play for the national championship. Ohio state my friends is not one of them.

Auburn going into the weekend, #4, going out of the weekend, #3. What a joke. If they beat Mizzou and don't end up in the national championship it will be a travesty.

Is that what Clem Haskins was concerned about?

What sport is he currently coaching for a Minnesota college?

Yeah, an undefeated Ohio State should place behind a 1 loss Auburn team. Yeahhh, another opinion.

The real travesty is that a team like Florida St, Ohio or Auburn may be knocked out of a National Championship based on idiotic opinions. Not based on teams proving it against each other in a play-off system like it should be.

Start playing conference schedules early so they can go into a play-off format early. I would rather watch that and see something real proven on the field of play rather than the minds of USA Today opinion makers. Wouldn't you?

That's just an opinion. No more, no less.

Until we have a true college play-off for the National Championship just like they do in most High School systems it is no more than an Opinion Bowl.

It's not a true National Championship.

Granted, it was more than 30 years ago, but do you happen to know who the last FBS team to three-peat is?

Of course I know. But as you stated, that was more than 30 years ago.

If the unthinkable happens (Duke beating Florida State) then we could see a rematch in the national title game wink

Sister: Deadly shooting was over Alabama loss to Auburn

By Jay Reeves, The Associated Press

Quote:

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A woman charged with killing a fellow Alabama fan after the end of last weekend's Iron Bowl football game was angry that the victim and others didn't seem upset over the Crimson Tide's loss to archrival Auburn, said the sister of the slain woman.

Adrian Laroze Briskey, 28, was charged Monday with murder in the killing of 36-year-old Michelle Shepherd.

Hoover police Capt. Jim Coker said both Birmingham women were Alabama fans and at the same party for the annual game between intrastate rivals. With no time left on the clock, Auburn returned a missed Crimson Tide field goal more than 100 yards for a 34-28 victory, dashing any hopes of Alabama playing for a third straight national championship.

The upset had college football fans, as well as sports novices, in awe days beyond the Saturday afternoon game.

The victim's sister, Nekesa Shepherd, said she witnessed the killing and had no doubt it was about football, even though it was unclear to investigators whether the violence was motivated by the game.

"That's one of the things we are investigating," Coker said Monday.

Nekesa Shepherd said Briskey flew into a rage when she saw the sisters and others joking that the Crimson Tide's loss wasn't as bad as if the NBA's Miami Heat had lost a game.

"She said we weren't real Alabama fans because it didn't bother us that they lost. And then she started shooting," Shepherd told The Associated Press.

Shepherd said she and her sister were invited to the party by a mutual friend who also invited Briskey. About two dozen people were on hand.

Shepherd, the mother of three, was shot to death in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover and the women did not know each other before the party, Coker said.

Court records were not available to show whether Briskey has a lawyer. She has only had a couple of speeding tickets in the past, records show.

Coker said alcohol might have been involved, but investigators are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to make a determination.

Shepherd said Briskey drank multiple shots of liquor during the game and "went crazy" when she heard people joking after 'Bama lost.

"It was over a football game," said Shepherd. "I'm never going to forget it because she died in my arms."

Putting the FAN in FANATIC.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
