whos going where for opener

I think The part of the state that I go to is unaffected by the low water that we have this year. I got reports last night that it is dry but the water levels are still ok.

Great uncle was out scouting a couple days ago in central North Dakota and pretty much relayed what I expected to hear: lots of small sloughs dried up, bigger water is anywhere from a foot to two feet below normal. Our opener spot for the past six years was at or near a record high last year. This year, the water is a good 18 inches away from the edge of the cattails. Plenty of ducks still! But I just hope the dogs don't struggle too much getting through that slop.

I got a spot right by my house. I've seen piles of woodducks in there the last week. So hopefully a few pay us a visit on Saturday!

This will be my first season hunting from a boat so i'll be scouting tomorrow evening and hoping to find a spot with some birds.

I'll hunt where i find birds but do you folks think i should focus on bigger lakes and ponds or the smaller the better to help narrow down my scouting?

Some of my favorite woodduck ponds are very low if not gone but I planning to save them for next weekend this weekend me and a friend are going out on the mississippi. Have not checked it out the water level but we are not to worried about it, but then agian something could turn around and bite us in the rear.

Where I hunt (NORTH CENTRAL MN) the overage of water has changed as well....flooded wild rice early on, little to no wild rice now. Wild rice is a magnet for birds, so some areas may have little to no cover/forage for birds. I haven't scouted as much this year, but have heard spots/bird numbers are going to be down. Will be able to scout 1 day prior to opener, to see what's left

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, STAY SAFE THIS WEEKEND

Carlos Avery, got drawn for the hunt on the sanctuary. Going to check it out tomorrow.

Looking very promising. Seen about 15 teal and 5 woodies, they were making tons of noise. The spot is nearly surrounded by wood duck and hen houses. Also heard some geese and some shooting off in the distance.

Also got to check out a few more spots in the area, none as promising as the sanctuary. smile

Does anyone have A 5 person sleeper ice house for rent during February 6th through the 10th?

Police brutality is a concern right now in many areas, and everyone is working to safeguard their rights. But it is this situation itself that needs to be examined. Having knowledge of police brutality was really helpful to me. Try this at . There is a ton of information here https://supremestudy.com/essay-examples/police-brutality/ on it, which you may also examine in further detail huge learn more about. I hope it will be helpful to you

Finding between 3-7 inches of ice around most of the st cloud area. Was on one of the bigger lakes and one of the shallower ones in our area today. On the larger lake,  lots of ice in the bays, but main lake had roughly 3 inches where I checked.  The Shallow one had right around 7 inches.  Fish bit very well on one, and not so great on the other.

Polkiss this...   Logging is the only way out of the Smokey the Bear debacle. We've created so much fuel in the understory from fire suppression. Logging, BIGTIME may be the only answer. Top off the past century of fire suppression with now hundreds of thousands of acres of bug kill in our mature forests when as much as a bug farts, millions of acres lie waste to everything from fire, even micro organisms in the soil. Then heavy rain, or snowmelt washes away what's left...... Log Baby Log 👍👍 and flood the mills with wood, not ash.

many thanks to you all for providing the information.  it is appreciated.

Knowing and comprehending it myself For instance, logging has increased significantly over time. This can't possibly be permitted. I can speak for myself when I say that we now need to consider how to read about this essay [source] because I was able to learn a lot and even used this information to write a course at the university. Therefore, if anyone needs some knowledge about deforestation, it is useful from both a theoretical and practical point of view. Everyone must protect the environment!

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the safety tip.  Always good to know where springs in lakes are!  👍

Ok I did not check ice thicknesses yet but green, blue, baxter, lori, and elk all had anglers on them. I hope to check thicknesses soon.

There is also some springs in the way back of blue lake ( In nashwauk MN) If you go back there you may run into some if you go to the right or the left there is some both directions so I would suggest not going back there or if you do i would check the ice every 25ft or so at least have fun out there
