glass jigs on LOW?

Hi guys,

We are heading up to LOW this weekend. The resort we are going with said the eyes are hitting glass jigs. I cant find any anywhere at my local stores or online. I have plenty of standard and glow jigs, should I worry about the mysterious glass and glass glow jigs or forget about them? Anyone know where to get some?

I dont think they are a necessity but you should be able to find the jigs at any of the bait shops around LOW. If youre like me, you'll buy more than you need. They came out a couple years ago. I forget the company that makes them but they come in several colors that are inside the glass that makes up the head of the jig. They do work but im sure other jigs will do you just as good too.

The way the fish are biting now, it doesn't matter what kind of jig you are using. I have heard over a dozen different jigs that were the best. I have had some of the best fishing I have ever had and used just a plain old gold roundhead jig. I am not saying you shouldn't buy some because you can never have too much tackle but if you can't find them, it is not the end of the world.

Teir called the nucleus jig, they came out a lomg time ago an were a big hit based on their uniqueness, they were expensive, about 5-6 bucks apiece, didnt take long to dies out, you cn still find some at the local bait shops up there, but not all carry them. Dont know if they even still make them, the shops that still have them, might still be carrying old stock. Sounds like they want to gt rid of that stock. Get yourself a red lindy flyer, red glow rattle varmit, a pink charmer, an use a bobber set an your all good.

Thanks for the replies. I did find old posts on the nucleus jigs, I haven't seen anywhere that sells them locally. Ill keep an eye out for them when we get up there but don't want to spend an arm and leg on a few jigs. Ill look into a few of the mentioned jigs you suggested.

Also known as tiger eye jigs. I looked for them at mills ff in st cloud and the guy told me they ordered them from the supplier but never got their order.

i've used them with some success.  i use the strobe jigs and have never looked back.  they are killer.
