Well we are a week away from heading up to Dixon for the Get TO Gator.

Hope you are all still planning on coming, as we have a great time up there.

Again, see you all on the ice on Friday!!

Does anybody know what the ice conditions look like in the flowage? I assume with no snow that the roads are all still open.

Great looking prizes as always. Thanks laska for making those you do such great work

I have a decoy and another gift from the MDAA and another anonymous person for the Look and Release portion of the GTG.

Here's how this will work this year.

Video your look and release and then post it on the Spearing forum after the GTG .

We will put up a poll and the viewers can pick the winners .

There will be a first and second place prize .

I will post pics of the prizes later today.

Just a head up for everyone going. I was up on bowens flats on winnie this past weekend, and the water clarity was not the greatest. You could just make out the bottmo in 9' of water. There was a good solid 9 to 12" of ice. I am not for sure how the ice and water clarity is on third river though. I am hopefully going to be able to make it up there. The fishing was a little slow we seen three northerns and 1 nice walleye in 2 days of sitting.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
