Or just read Pauls post. LOL grin

He has a road plowed there from Appeldoorns, just go and see him!

I concur with Darren. Go talk to Paul. He's put a ton of people on fish of various species. He'll be able to point you to potential mud flats to fish, as well as other spots that might be more perch-friendly. Some of the best spots on the lake are only accessible from the East side.

wink

I guess I stand corrected. I should have said some spots are MORE EASILY accessible from the east. Nothing is impossible.

I fished the Cisco about 12 days back at 3AM and the fish were on the deep water edge of a mud flat, but I am reasonably certain they were all over that flat. When we fish them on Big Green in WI, they are very much a low-light or night biter like walleyes. Cannot understand why more on Mille Lacs don't stick around after dark if the weather cooperates.

I will say that as soon as that sun peeked above the horizon that morning, the cisco were far less in numbers and far less aggressive.

Well my dad wanted to fish the western flats at first cause some guys from his work had caught some nice perch. Well we caught nothing and moved east all day. ended up fishing 8 mile until about 12:15 and headed to hunters for the drawings.

Hey,

Gonna be heading out this Saturday with the fiancée. My Strike Master Lazer Mag has a 38" auger and I'm just wondering if I'm still gonna make it through the ice?!?! I had about 6" of clearance 2 weeks ago. Thanks!

What kind of jigging spoon were you guys using for tullies? Does Size, color of spoon and hook matter? Pics would be awesome. Thanks.

Go through this whole thread. There are a few posts that talk about what they have been using.

Do most guys launch from the west and work their way to the mud flats? Or do they go from the east and work their way west?

Doesnt matter much some of the western flats are much closer to the west side of the lake from the east you must go many miles to get to the mud. Where ya coming from may play into which side to go out of.

I like lybaks if you want to hit the gravel long haul to the mud!

Where is Greg's flat and which is a good access with decent roads to get there? Heard the tullibee's were biting there (along with many other places). Thanks

was up yesterday with my 11 yr old. Focused on deeper water off flat edges (Seguchie & 8 Mile) with no luck - didn't even see many at all on camera. Once I started to hole hop I did mark some suspended and finally caught a tulle in 30 feet. So I moveed us in and set up and from 2:00 - 3:30 we ended up catching 17 tulles and 3 keeper perch. My daughter caught most of them - on a little ultra lt rod I set up for her. She had so much fun! Thanks to Rick at Terry's!

Nice work, Whopper. Sounds like a good time! It pays off to hop around a bit when they aren't under you. When you go looking and find them like that, it changes a day from a bust to a day your daughter will remember for a while! Thanks for the report!

We went out of Terry's too, out to 7 mile. Alot of tire kickers, but managed a few. Heard of some guys out on the top of the lake and they couldn't keep them off the line.

Lunker,

A few guys were on the inside turn where the flat heads to the north and did very well on the Tullies.

Was out Saturday morning with the two kids, managed to only catch a half dozen tullies and a perch for the few hours we were out there. What was fun to see was that when we dropped the underwater camera down, they were there! They were just not biting. We saw a bunch of small perch, and a lot of tullies! Occasionally, a fat perch swims by to check out the camera.

I was thinking about this thread and the "smell" discussion. The last time we were out, we caught a few and had a bucket in the portable. I was fishing outside, then came in to warm up and the smell was horrible. I was thinking, huh maybe TonkaPat and the other guys were right about the stench.

I was then outside fishing later on and Aanderud walked up to me with an empty bucket that was in the shelter and said "smell this". I put my head near it and just about heaved. It had a bunch of week old freshwater shrimp laying at the bottom.

Rotting shrimp is right up there with some of the worst smells in fishing.

How is the drive out there. Thinking about coming up to the big lake. Don't have a truck so is a regular fornt wheel drive okay on the ice? Any info will help. Thanks.

The only points the Packers scored were 1) off a turnover (interception), and 2) in garbage time when the Vikings went into prevent defense mode.  Outside of that, they put up a whopping 3 points.  This from a GB team that has scored at least 30 points in each of their last 5 games.   The theory on prevent defense is that once you get a big lead in the 4th quarter, you back off and make the opponent beat you by methodically moving the ball and the sticks, one at a time.  It eats up clock and there just isn't enough time left to come back doing it.  You don't want to get beat deep so you give them easy yardage.  Its like slowly bleeding out but you survive the game without dying.  I don't particularly care for it, but every single team in the NFL does it.  We've seen it  a lot this season too when the Vikings get a double digit lead, and then back off, allowing the other team to gain ground and make it close.

Lake update:  It rained quite a bit on overnight Friday into Saturday. There is virtually no snow on the lake now, except a scant amount in the shadows along the shorelines. On Saturday there were good pools of water on top of the ice. My daughter, niece, and nephew had a blast riding snowmobiles around in all of that water/slush. However, most of that liquid water firmed up yesterday and now the lake is pure ice again.   If you've got scratchers and studs on your sled, you will be fine. If not, you better walk or ride an ATV/UTV out to your ice fishing holes.    Ask Mother Nature to send a bunch of snow ASAP.

Agreed.  If Darnold could unload a lot faster off the snap he would be unstoppable.  I could see how frustrated Jefferson was.

I think they could get the Lions.  Not as confident with the Chefs.  I’d love to see it though.   Darnold did well for sure!  But he was off a bit and the receivers made some great catches.  Then a few plays that were close to turnovers.  It was a good thing GB took too long to find their game.   Im not hatin’, just sayin’.

Just like the Twins in 87 and 91.  One game at a time.  I think with KOC they have a good shot. Besides it's a rebuild year according to the experts at the beginning of the year.
    • leech~~
It was a win but can they get by the Lion's and Chief's if the defense doesn't show up?  What more can your QB do but his best stat game of the season?

      i dont see a TV......weres da commercial??????🤣🙃

Glad they hung on to it with leaving 13 points on the field.
