Lake of the woods contour map

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone can point me towards a place i can get a nice contour map of LOW. Not looking for anything cheap but something nice to possible frame and decorate my office with. I think i saw what i was looking for in JP's last video but just wondering where i could get one. Up there? on line? anyone? Thanks

Its funny you should ask, cause I was in East Grand Forks yesterday at Cabelas

and I saw them there, lake master made, for like 10 or 11 bucks! smile

FFarm or Gander has Fishing HOTSPOTS Maps that are a decent overview...not detailed like the chips are, under $10. You want the southwest one for the Mn part.

if you are looking for the map in JP's last video, you do NOT want a contour map. Stop into streiff sporting goods in Warroad, they sell those exact maps with the numbers on the lake that correspond to the depth...thas what JP had.

Ya know for framing you'd probably want one of the Canadian hydro charts. I have 4 charts that make up the whole lake but I think there is one of the full lake on 1 sheet.

Cooler yet would be making a big one out of cut and pieced together Canadian hydro charts of all 4 of the individual areas mapped.. You'd end up with one about 5 x 8 wall size with much better 'resolution'.

6202, 6203, 6204, 6205, are the 4 larger charts. Not sure on full lake # as I don't have that one. 6203 looks like the one in the vid.. Shows all of Big Traverse and Muskeg bays in US waters, Buffalo Bay in Mb, N to just N of Garden Island, and east into Ontario waters stopping east side of Bigsby Island.

lakemaster has a special running right now on laminated maps for about $14-$15. Had one delivered to my doorstep for like $18!

Not a better map out there IMHO.

I'm thinking you guys aren't getting the jist of what he's trying to put on the wall. the lakemaster maps aren't that map. Yes they are a great map for looking for spots on the lake. And I have one as well. but for framing, he's looking for the classic old school map.
