Cleaning Fish on Ice when in Sleeper??

Recommended Posts

We are planning a 4 day trip to LOTW in a Sleeper. We would like to fry some fish for dinners. I cannot find anything in the fishing regulations about the legality/illegality of doing this. If it is legal, I am concerned about having the remains of the fish cleaning in a bag, from the day before and starting another days evening meal...any guidance appreciated. Is there a way to talk to a Game Warden with the question, or would they ever read here?

You can clean and eat your catch on the ice, but you must keep the carcass's pretty much in tact for inspection. The carass's count toward your limit as long as you still have them. You will have to take the guts to shore for proper disposal before you can catch and keep more.

Have fun!

The fish you eat are counted toward that days limit. Once those fish are eaten, you can start over the next day.

Mike is right, if you catch your limit and eat half of them today you cannot replace them that day.

You start over the next day but the carcasses from the day before must

be gone before you start on new limits.
