Yeah it may suck or its really good huh?? HAHA, I was being a smart A which maybe I shouldnt have but LOTwoods seems to be the hardest place to ask about on all of the forums. Of course I dont want specific info cuz thats is totally understandable. We fish there all winter but just havent made it up this year yet, so was wondering how things have been thats all. The other forums including the ones near my home seem to have much more willing members to help out locals as well as people comming from other areas. No biggie, I can catch a fish or two without any help but will respond with my report when I get back. Good luck everyone.

Dragon. Please keep in mind, there are thousands of folks that fish all over LOW, but not many of them are found on Fishing Minnesota. There have been previous threads on the Springsteel area discussing fishing results, and road conditions. Look back thru some of the posts under Lake of the Woods. There are many pages you do not see without opening them.

Also, it's mid-day Wednesday. Most folks are at work, not on-line talking fishing. Much more attention is paid to the east side of the lake.

LOW has been kind of spotty all over due to almost constant weather fluctuation. Trust your fishing instincts, move around a little, and you'll find fish. LOW is a slam dunk for a winter meal of fresh walleyes and saugers. You can't catch em' with your computer! wink

all i know about five mile is that it looks very crowed for a small area....and springsteel the road isnt bad they had to plow around some wet areas and they are out to the southtip, i havent been out since sunday so it might have changed.....off road travel is so-so i was able to get around with a wheelhouse but there were alot of people stuck..where i set my house has 26inches of ice but 100 yards to the east it was 12inches(19-20ft)..the fishing was slow at best over the week-end, caught 15 and took home 9 for 3 people on sunday(4hrs of fishing)

I agree guys, I was just in a smart A mood I guess. Hopefully we beat the storm up there and get some good fishing in, spend some money on bait, beer and food, and have a good time in our new fish house. THANKS

We just returned home from a Sunday evening through Tuesday sleeper trip with Bob's Ice Fishing and we were able to fry fish for supper and bring home a 4 man limit of 16 walleyes and 16 sauger. 20 ft of water among the crowd.

Fished fairly close to south tip, 20 feet of water. First two days were pretty good, sunday was slow. Stop sign seemed to be the ticket with the most fish. Bobber fishing just off the bottom worked better then jigging this trip which is unusual for us. All fish were nice in the 17-19 range. NOT BAD over all.

The only points the Packers scored were 1) off a turnover (interception), and 2) in garbage time when the Vikings went into prevent defense mode.  Outside of that, they put up a whopping 3 points.  This from a GB team that has scored at least 30 points in each of their last 5 games.   The theory on prevent defense is that once you get a big lead in the 4th quarter, you back off and make the opponent beat you by methodically moving the ball and the sticks, one at a time.  It eats up clock and there just isn't enough time left to come back doing it.  You don't want to get beat deep so you give them easy yardage.  Its like slowly bleeding out but you survive the game without dying.  I don't particularly care for it, but every single team in the NFL does it.  We've seen it  a lot this season too when the Vikings get a double digit lead, and then back off, allowing the other team to gain ground and make it close.

Lake update:  It rained quite a bit on overnight Friday into Saturday. There is virtually no snow on the lake now, except a scant amount in the shadows along the shorelines. On Saturday there were good pools of water on top of the ice. My daughter, niece, and nephew had a blast riding snowmobiles around in all of that water/slush. However, most of that liquid water firmed up yesterday and now the lake is pure ice again.   If you've got scratchers and studs on your sled, you will be fine. If not, you better walk or ride an ATV/UTV out to your ice fishing holes.    Ask Mother Nature to send a bunch of snow ASAP.

Agreed.  If Darnold could unload a lot faster off the snap he would be unstoppable.  I could see how frustrated Jefferson was.

I think they could get the Lions.  Not as confident with the Chefs.  I’d love to see it though.   Darnold did well for sure!  But he was off a bit and the receivers made some great catches.  Then a few plays that were close to turnovers.  It was a good thing GB took too long to find their game.   Im not hatin’, just sayin’.

Just like the Twins in 87 and 91.  One game at a time.  I think with KOC they have a good shot. Besides it's a rebuild year according to the experts at the beginning of the year.

It was a win but can they get by the Lion's and Chief's if the defense doesn't show up?  What more can your QB do but his best stat game of the season?

Glad they hung on to it with leaving 13 points on the field.

OMG Vikes. I don't need this heart stopping kind if game,  but love 14-2.  Now regroup and take care of Detroit.
