Just got back from Rocky Point and all I can say is WOW! Had a great time. Wife ended up beating me on the last day with a 27 1/4 inch walleye. should have seen her eyes when I lifted it out of the hole for her. All she could say was"I'm kicking your azz!" Only ended up with 34 fish total, but mostly walleys 14-17 inch range. Clean sleepers and, Joe I believe his name is, was very professional while talking to us. Really top notch crew they have on the Ice. Arnesens will defineatly be getting our return business!

Hey buck hunter. We are heading up from Chippewa Falls on Wednesday night and can't wait. Never been to Arnesens before so excited. We are in sleepers too. Only 34 fish , how long were you there? Any fish at night? How was the overall bite from others you talked to at arnesens? Thanks!!!

Joe is top notch, as are all of the guides we've dealt with up there.

We'll be up there in 3 weeks for our annual sleeper trip. I think this is our 4th year using Arnesens. Couldn't be happier. We caught 152 for 3 guys in 2 days up there last year including a 28 1/2 incher.

My wife and I were their for only 2 days, Sunday was pretty good from 9-2 then tapered off for the rest of the day. Monday the pressure started to rise and we left the ice at 1pm. We got 1 walleye at 8pm on a rattle wheel and a 9 inch eel pout. If your gonna fish in a sleeper bring some rattle wheels. For nothing else to try to catch an eel pout. My wife only fishes with a bobber pole and then a rattle wheel so it was what ever decided to bite she caught. The walleyes were a little more aggressive towards a rattling flyer and when they came up I would slowly take it away from them. This caused them to hit a little harder than normal but I also coaxed some of those fish that wouldn't hit the dead stick, to hit the jigging pole. Hope this helps

never been up there to fish but have thought about giving it a try next year.

I've been up to LOTW two times out of two different resorts. I've just fished off Adrians road both times, basically renting a day house and fishing a certain depth. Is Arnesen's the same way, do you fish just a depth range or is there more structure you target? Do you drive your own truck out there or do they ship you out in there own bombadiers?

Just curious to how it compares to the fishing I have experienced out of Adrians. Both times up there I've had good experiences but would like to try something new maybe.

Way different Pine area vs. Rocky pt. area. Pine basically featureless basin and the Rocky pt. area is heavy with structure.

Fisky-or anyone who might know - do you know if they have the shacks out on the reefs (other than sleepers) or around the rock mostly??I heard that they have them out deeper (for this time of year).

I ask because it seems that the shack staging seems to be what it would be for Febuary. Every resort looks to be out wayyy deeper this early in the year compared to the past 10years..

Just got home from a weekend at Arnesens. Fishing was awesome and they run a great operation as far as I am concerned and am going back in march. Red glow forage minnow spoons was the ticket all weekend. Probably 8-1 over any other bait. The more aggressive you were with the jigging the more strikes we got. It was 50/50 eyes and saugers with a couple slots fish as well.

50/50 - wow, we usually have to work to get our limit of saugers! A few slot fish is about right for us too, what size spoons ya'll using?

I usually use 1/2 oz, with a full minnow. You even get some dinks on that 4inch presentation. I was thinking of going a little bigger.

Just getting around to reporting on our trip. We fished out of Arnesens from 1/6-1/9. Thursday was our best day catching about 45 fish for 3 guys. We ended the trip with about 120 fish total. Alot of small sauger. Caught some nice eyes also-biggest at 22.5". Lost one monster on Thursday-suspended fish, but never saw it-sturgeon maybe? We also caught 6 beautiful perch 3 at 13". We were in 26' in the mud. As usual red, pink, gold, and green all worked. Whole minnow instead of half seemed to help at times. Alot of sniffers all three days. Had a great time. Seems like a well run operation with nice sleepers.

Used 1/8th ounce Redfish glo forage minnows and the more aggressive we were the better the bite was. Gold was ok but nothing on any other colors at all. We used two minnow heads on a jig and seemed to be the hot ticket for us. That was the advice from Joe and it worked great. Dead sticking was ok but not real hot for us. Minnow hooked through the tail on a plain red hook was the best. Friday and Saturday were about equal. Also caught 3 big burbot at night Saturday night and one Friday night .

I have rented one from them last year and they are Vexilar FL-8 and they charge about $25 per day. If you want one you may want to get with them early, because they are actually the guides personal equipment and they only have so many...

Yes - the guides rent the Vex's at Arnesens. 20 bucks & are FL18's. Its 1st oome 1st served so get down to the Guide shack early & rent one-even if the guys aren't ready to go out fishin yet.

FL18's-The newer flat screen ones with the battery guage. As it was said above, these are the guides personal gear. Get down there bout 7 maybe a little earlier and grab one. This will be my buddies 1st year not renting..got a bird.

Cobra they do rent vex,s form the resort. Not sure cost but I heard the guy in the house next to us ordering one while out on the lake. We even had a Vex battery delivered when one of the guys in our group had one go bad overnight. We fished (1-6)-(1-9) We had 10 guys in our group putting 43,45,23 in pails each day. Anything pink/gold seemed to out fish the rest. Yellow would come on hot after lunch. Many 13-15 sauger while the walleyes seemed more hearty with most keepers 15-17.5.
