Ice Fishing in Rochester

Hope to get some discussion going in the Roch forum here. Made it out for the first time last Wednesday. Went out to Silver Creek Res. and caught about a thousand perch, ended up keeping about 10. Caught two small crappies and also had two tip ups, forgot my camera otherwise I would have pics. Both were nice fish first one was 33 inches 9lbs and the second was 28 inches 6 lbs.

Found it VERY strange that I didn't catch a single bluegill. Not one! Had a camera too and didn't see one at all! What's up with that????

Would like to head out to Willow Creek, heard you can catch some nice pannies out there. Prob head out this week sometime before I make the journey to Winona and hit the backwaters.

Anyways let's hear how everyone is doing!

thats weird that you havent been gettin into the gills out there, ive been out there a bunch in the last 2 weeks and catch numerous MONSTER gills everytime. there alot of fun. where abouts were you on the reservoir

Pretty much straight out from when you walk down the hill. Would be very curious to hear of where the monster gills are. I'm not planing on keeping any, just want to catch one to mount, I've heard of some pounders in there.

hey guys,

any of you been out to winona lake yet? Wondering how the ice is out there.

was out on scr yesterday and caught 3 gills just over 10" and a bunch of other nice ones, i have mainly been catchin them out from the path comin down and about 60-70 yards to the south in about 11.5-12 fow.
