Water Temp Question

LakeoftheWoods

Recommended Posts

I've been watching the USGS website that has the water temp at the wheeler's point landing. its reading about 45 degrees right now. Does anyone know how well that number relates to the lake temp numbers? is this a surface temp? or is the actual thermometer down below the surface a bit? Is this to assume that since this temp is flowing IN to the lake that it should somewhat reflect lake temps?

just thinking bout your question LOW, No clue. But I would think the lake tempereture would be colder than the river temp right now due to all the run off thats flowing into the river off of the earths surface which would keep the run off a little warmer, the water temp might be comparable in anround the gap, but i would think the actual lake temp would be colder. I have no facts to bacvk this up just a little thinking. Runoff I think tends to be warmer, how much than the lake it's flowing into? no clue. Interesting question thou. Boar
