Rookie ice fishing question

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have been fishing on Lake of the Woods for many years in the summer season and this February I have some extra time and am going to try my hand at Ice Fishing there. I have never ice fished for walleyes before and I need some info as to what kind of bait/tackle I need to have in my arsonal before I go. Any info would be great as I am starting to make my "grocery list" for the sporting goods stores. Auger and house and ice fishing basics are taken care of but nothing specific for walleyes. Suggestions?

lindy rattlin flyer spoons, northland buckshot rattle spoon and swedish pimples.. 3 great walleye lures for the hard water season. get a variety of colors and sizes. usually just use these spoons tipped with a minnow head and that is all you need

Don't leave home without some Rapala Jigging Shad Rap's in glow red!!! DEADLY Tipped on the treble with a 1/2 a shiner. I would also reccomend obtaining a Vexilar for you trip, I think you find it's will probably be the most important think you bring.
