Thinking of applying for non resident waterfowl for next season.

any tips or suggestions for the first timer. there will be group of 4-6 of us.

I have a boat and blind, plenty of decoys-no duck dog buti have two setters .

I enjoy hunting bigger water but open to advise, probally will have to be public stuff. being as I know no one living there.

I figure if I start now it may actually happen provide application process works out.

plenty of places a guy can go for "big water" hunting, especially if you like shooting divers. this fall its going to be all about the flooded fields again if we keep getting 2" of rain per week. next fall who knows, but water levels will still be healthy. I would plan your trip for a day or two of scouting before you hunt and you will be fine. Private land isn't too tough to get on, just scout and find your A, B, and C options, then find land owners.
