Not at all I would got to bald eagle winkgrin honestly though it has its good and bad days just like everywhere else. Tonka is more consistent but if you got time to spend there it can be good.

Hey Rum. I don't know if you were telling me or deadeye to e-mail you. Anyway, I cant figure your e-mail out or send you a PM. My e-mail is [email protected] if you were referring to me. Some hints would be great. My 7 year old just had a minor surgery on friday that shook him up and my wife just got a st croix avid pearl she wants to hook a fish on. Tomorrow is going to be a huge day on the boat for us morale wise. thanks. I always love the sportsmanship of people ive never met on here. If you werent referring to me. I hope deadeye get some good info. have a good one guys.

mww24 just realized my email is not in my signature anymore.

Did not check this thread after I posted in it.

I fished Medicine Sunday.

The Blue Bird Skies made things tough.

Only put 3 Bass in the boat.

I think there is a Sea Monster in that lake, jac174 had a fish snap his rod in two. The rod snapped at the reel seat.

It was a medium action casting rod.

It was the most violent attack on a lure at boat side I have ever seen.

It had to be a large Pike or a Bowfin.

I was out on Medicine about a month ago. Fishing the east side in about 10 FOW. Same thing happened to me. Fishing a jig worm, something hit it near the bottom, set the hook and off it went, snapped my Loomis in the middle. Not sure what it was, but it had to be HUGE!!!!

I'm willing to bet that it was a Carp. I have a friend who had his rod snapped by a Carp out on Medicine about 5 years ago.

Here's my fishing report from Sunday...

9/12/10 Medicine Lake Report

Wind: 5-20mph

Surface Temp: 66.5-68.1

Water Clarity: 1-2'

Presentations: 4" Storm SwimShad, 3" RippleShad on 3/8 jig, 3" PowerGrub on 1/4oz jig, DT16, DT14, #6 Sinking Salmo Hornet, #7 Shad Rap, #10 Deep Down Husky Jerk, 4" Power Worm on 1/4 oz jig, and 800 series Reef Runner.

Fishing Report: Got out on the lake around 2pm and fished untill 7:30. The first spot I fished I picked up 5 Walleye's and 3 Bass. The next few spots I fished I only managed a few small Bass. I then moved to the wind blown shore and found the fish to be more cooperative. I ended up catching 3 Walleye's and 15 Bass on the wind blown shore. Most of the Bass were 17-18, but three of them were 20".

I don't know about any one else but the fish that hit next to the boat on Medicine on Sunday was definitely not a carp, the color and shape were all wrong. It was a light color and a long slender body. I thought it was a big (mean) pike. Broke the rod right in half at the reel seat on the hook set. Incredibly violent attack on the bait about a foot under water about 3 feet from the boat.

Yeah dogfish are pretty gnarly in there, they have ruined a couple ultralights of mine and have thrashed a few spinnerbaits and cranks as well.

MedMan knows that lake better than anyone. I think he recorded the entire lake on his aquaview. I haven't been to Med in years. It's a great lake and full of nice bass and pike and I hope the walleyes spawn. Medman did you ever hear the results of the tagged eyes if they are stocked or natural? Thought you did some DNR work.

Has anyone been out on medicine ice fishing yet?

I started ice fishing medicine last year and have accounted for pike and walleye.

I have not been out this season yet, but hopefully soon!

I'm heading out there tomorrow, Tuesday, morning. Wasn't able to find any minnows in my area, Eagan, so hopefully they like the wax worms. I'll try that West side, see if those crappies are still floating in the 20-30' range

Please report back on your trip tomorrow. I am hoping to get out there late this week and would appreciate a report on the ice conditions.

I'm considering breaking out the gear and hitting west Medicine tomorrow Morning for awhile. Anyone got a handle on ice thickness out there?

Heading up to LV a week from today with the kids. Any advice for us? Staying on the West side but open to traveling if the weather permits.   The way the last few weeks have gone, might stay for good!!!

Do have Wi-Fi in your house. Your going to need that to work with any of the cameras that send a signal and video to your phone.  Hardwire is the best but battery power workers well for about two months then you have to pull them and recharge them.  It is nice to sit on a beach in Key West and keep an eye on your house when gone! 👌

With all the craziness in the world I’m looking at getting an outdoor security camera setup for my home. Anyone have ideas on what works well without a huge cost  and easy to do . Or is it better to go with a company to set it up.  We have recently had copper thefts in the area at farmers fields and bin sites and I know it will only gat worse as these things always do. I probably want something that hooks up to my phone as well and wondering if there is a good one with either battery life or if wired is better. Any thoughts are welcome.

Aren't they the ones that ran into problems about illegal bait? Anyone know how that turned out?

You launch on Moose Lake to get to the motorized portage. It's called Prairie portage. To get to the portage you put in at Moose Lake. From Moose you go into Newfound Lake. From Newfound you go into Sucker Lake. On Sucker is where Prairie portage is. There is a dock on the American side and on the Canadian side there is big sign welcoming you to Canada. Latourell's Resort runs the portage and the cost for the portage is $40 for a round trip.

Will that blond haired kid have that cool little orange boat in the show this weekend? Saw him driving around by Muskego Point a few times this summer.

      Hey  stranger!!👌

Nope, there are parts of Basswood that allow motors.   Entry is from Fall Lake, and there is (I think) a motorized portage.   It is really popular in the spring...
