Anybody else excited? Like to hear your stories and how you're planning on catching some Fall eyes. I'm getting excited to whip out the Vexilar and do some fall vertical jigging. Haven't hooked into a walleye over 25" since May, and I'm getting very anxious!

I'd sure like to get one over 25" this year--been slow on thw walleye front for me----hopefully that will change like jigging, rigging for fall walleyes----I'm hopeing to do some after dark trolling if I can find someone dumb enough to go with

good luck all

A little early yet for the aggressive fall fish. Went out two nights ago, with no luck. Caught a few bluegills in the process. Waiting for the water temperature to drop in the 50's.

actually, the walleyes are very aggressive right now, if you know where to look. i found some by accident a few days ago, the day of my moms wedding. wasting time until i had to get to the church for pictures.

they were both 18" fish.

and my beauty from last night. caught from shore in about 3 FOW. jig and a minnow floated in current (hint hint)

it was on le homme dieu

It seems like on some lakes the big walleyes have started to move shallower. I've caught two walleyes in the last two weeks in the 27-28 " class. Both caught in less than 9 feet of water fishing for bass in the weeds. One was on a medium running crank and the other was on a swim jig.

I was out bass/walleye fishing last night, and the east wind blew thousands of minnows into 2-3 FOW on a flat about the size of a football field. I saw dozens of fish splashing and eating the minnows. I wish I could've seen what kind of fish they were. I didn't bring with the right tackle to cast bobbers in the shallows. Caught a few small (25") northerns, and a nice 15" largemouth also. 15-18 feet of water, jigging up and down the weedlines. Haven't had any luck finding the walleyes on my local lakes lately.

Caught a couple walleyes out on my local lake tonight. Only one keeper, which ran 17.5". Hooked into a walleye that would've ran about 25", but I didn't let him take the bait far enough, and he got off. Trolling slowly with red tails,in about 25-30 feet of water.

picking up a few walleyes here and there vertical jigging. trolling hasn't done me any good, but I've been able to "intercept" walleyes in 20-26 feet of water while they're moving up to feed. Perch colored jigs have done the best for me this past week.

caught 8 walleyes tonight. Smallest was 11.5 inches, and the biggest was 19.5 inches. kept two. bobber fishing on a 21-26 foot shelf. really steep drop off. lots of little guys roaming around, but those big fish are down there. plan on catching some better keepers/trophies as the October bite gets better. can't post a picture, because I took it right before I cleaned the fish, and HSO staff will just remove the picture because it isn't natural enough.

Get Out and Fish!! The walleye bite is starting to go insane. I'll be fishing every night I can.

Jack.

Caught a nice 25" eye tonight.

Lindy rigging with shiners in 25-28' of water.

Found a local fisherman on the lake, and he was willing to take a picture! =)

Caught 2 walleyes a night for the last two nights. Been slow, but have been catching nice eaters so it works out well.

Still lindy rigging with 6 foot snells and silver shiners.

25-32 feet of water has been working.

Jack.

Too busy to fish???? Say is aint so Jake!

LOL

sadly, its true.... i could easily go fishing. but im having quite a bit of fun putting in a new sound system (subs, amp, speakers, aftermarket radio, etc.) and playing with the engine.

i did go fishing a couple weeks ago. i stumbled upon a stream filled with MONSTER 6+" common shiners. so i caught about 100 and froze them for catfishing/ dog fishing next year

Heading up to LV a week from today with the kids. Any advice for us? Staying on the West side but open to traveling if the weather permits.   The way the last few weeks have gone, might stay for good!!!

Do have Wi-Fi in your house. Your going to need that to work with any of the cameras that send a signal and video to your phone.  Hardwire is the best but battery power workers well for about two months then you have to pull them and recharge them.  It is nice to sit on a beach in Key West and keep an eye on your house when gone! 👌

With all the craziness in the world I’m looking at getting an outdoor security camera setup for my home. Anyone have ideas on what works well without a huge cost  and easy to do . Or is it better to go with a company to set it up.  We have recently had copper thefts in the area at farmers fields and bin sites and I know it will only gat worse as these things always do. I probably want something that hooks up to my phone as well and wondering if there is a good one with either battery life or if wired is better. Any thoughts are welcome.

Aren't they the ones that ran into problems about illegal bait? Anyone know how that turned out?

You launch on Moose Lake to get to the motorized portage. It's called Prairie portage. To get to the portage you put in at Moose Lake. From Moose you go into Newfound Lake. From Newfound you go into Sucker Lake. On Sucker is where Prairie portage is. There is a dock on the American side and on the Canadian side there is big sign welcoming you to Canada. Latourell's Resort runs the portage and the cost for the portage is $40 for a round trip.

Will that blond haired kid have that cool little orange boat in the show this weekend? Saw him driving around by Muskego Point a few times this summer.

      Hey  stranger!!👌

Nope, there are parts of Basswood that allow motors.   Entry is from Fall Lake, and there is (I think) a motorized portage.   It is really popular in the spring...
