Trailer tire/rim question

I have a 02 karavan trailer with 13in. tires on it. How much of a hassle is it to fit it with bigger wheels, say going up to 15's. Those 13's go around a lot of times on long hauls. Will it extend the bearing life or not? Just wondering, don't want to be the one sitting on the side of the road.

If the seals leak and let water in then it won't extend the bearing life going with a bigger tire and rim.

Look at how many cars with 13' tires are on the road with 150k+ miles that haven't had the bearings replaced. Difference is water.

If you did switch to bigger tires then I'd imagine you'll need bigger fenders and mounted up higher.

Your boat will sit that much higher, if its a bunk trailer that is a bigger disadvantage.

If you clean and repack the bearing and replace the seals every couple years you won't have bearing problems. Also you should look at the inside of the hub and rim for any signs of grease getting slung.

If you see that its time to do the bearings and new seals.
