Adjusting a Fred Bear Showdown????

student

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at buying a Showdown that is extremely marked down. It is set at 28/60#. Would I be able to adjust these settings at all with this bow? I need 29". What do you think?

I just did this to my Showdown last night.

On the bottom cam, there is a a draw stop that sets the draw length. It should be marked with RSH6, for example. In order to make the draw length longer, you will need to replace that with one that has a LOWER number, example RSH4. Going from a 6 to a 4 would actually increase your draw 2 inches. If it is set at 28", then it probably has a 5 on it and you would need to go to a 4. Very simple.....two allen screws and your done. If you need to adjust less than an inch, you can loosen the allen screw in the brass fitting on the cam and that will increase/decrease your draw length by 1/2" increments. However, you have to have the bow in a BOW PRESS to do this adjustment.

If you want to increase the poundage, it is just cranking down the bolts on the limbs. Can't remember the exact turns per pound. YOu can download the owners manual online and it will give you all the information I just rattled off.

Hope this helps!

Very easy to do like musky said. You will need the right module on the cam. Talk to any pro shop and they can do the work if you're not comfortable.
