St. Croix Bluffs

I plan on launching out of the Bluffs and heading north no more than maybe a 1/2 mile. Is there much for smallmouth bass within that stretch? I only have a little 14ft aluminum with a shallow hull so I dont trust going much further than that, at least on the first trip. Any tips anyone can provide?

Try the shoreline just up river from the Bluffs all the way up through the Kini channel. I have caught smallmouth, crappies, and bluegills in that stretch. There is a lot of variety of shoreline along that stretch, rock, sand, and weedlines are all available in a relatively short distance. Don't be afraid to try fishing a little deeper than normal.
