hi i have 2 rods that i use exclusivly for pike. they are spinning reels i'm tired of the mono getting so twisted. i would like to use these rods for casting lures however i switch them over for sucker fishing and use a clip on bobber. will this ruin the line if i switch to a braid. not looking for which brand is the best just wondering if this would work i cant afford more rods nor do i have room thank you

You will be just fine, you may have some minor bobber slippage depending how you clip it on but more than likely not.

I agree, you won't have to worry about damaging the line, but you're probably going to have problems with the bobber slipping on the line and not staying where you want it. Good luck.
