Very small die off this year compared to years back. The water never gets warmer than it is now at Mille Lacs. 75 is high.

Talked to th DNR officer in garrison at the landing, he said that the water got so hot last week that atmosphere that the fish were in lost its O2 and thats why they died off.

Those tullibee are good eats! i hope they don't have a die off that is too bad, maybe the DNR will restore them to no limit since it was a record catch last year.

I used several of them on tip ups last year, the smaller ones were perfect size, like 7 inches, but those ones were hard too catch they have tiny mouths. Hopefully this record hatch will live to maturity and there will be no limit. I want to smoke alot of them this year hopefully there was not a big die off, I did not see any on labor day weekend.
