Have anyone been fishing BSL lately? Was up there 2 weekends ago and caught only 2 with about 2 dozen lookers.

Also, how deep is the snow now?? Last time we were up there, got stuck in some slushy area.

Good Morning,

Has anyone been out on Big Sandy lately for Tullies? We tried last weekend and had a lot of lookers but no takers. Tried all my spots from last year...that we could get to! Lots of snow and slush on the lake.I punced the first trail thru the new snow and got stuck out on the flat. Maybe I missed the early run. frown

You'll need some ground clearence and then you still can get stuck...bring a shovel.

The bite has slowed but if it's a sunny day the bite could be better.

What is the fishing like so far? Has the fish turned on yet? Hope to hit it this weekend but unsure of the slush/water on the late.

Can anyone post if truck travel on the lake is possible?

Some spots ya struggle other spots fish are stacked and feeding.

As to travel....we have lost a bunch of snow....still a good couple of feet of ice that is still clear. We just got warm....there's a good 6 weeks of fishing left although vehicle travel maybe limited to the next 3 weeks....all depends on how much warm weather we get. It has been freezing at night out there.

We are headed up tonight...sadly to get the icehouse off the lake. Though we will have to move around with the portable a little bit and see how things go. Everyone has been slow this year on BSL.

How are the tullies bitting on BSL? Wanted to hit BSL but was at Mille Lacs for the Perch Extravaganza at Hunter point.

Have the tullies picked up?

Spent 1/2 hr on BSL before dark Friday night and landed a big tullie right away and that was it. Fished all day Sat. on BSL for tullie and got 1 crappie. Marked a ton of fish all day long, but no biters at all.

I've started to see mayflies so the bite should improve.

Wow, must be a late bite this year then...

Good to hear that the bugs are hatching. Any report yet about fish activity?

It was good not great in Jan...went to heck in Feb. so now we are down to the last 5 weeks.

It was 10 below yesterday morning so we are still making good ice.

It looks like the low 30's for highs over the next few day. It'll have to get warmer for this top crust to melt off and then the bite will pick up.

She ain't really ready yet ,but it's gotta be getting close guys.
