We are interested in trying the islands this year. What resorts run the bombardiers up to those areas from the states side for day ice trips? I know of Wigwam and Sportsmans.

Thanks for the help guys

Riverbend and Snobies Ice Fishing both run there. Snobies headquarters out of Riverbend as far as meeting clients etc but are totally seperate from the resort. Darren and Baron at Snobies are great guys, Charlie and the crew at Riverbend do a good job. Both will get you to the reefs.

Not sure if they are up there yet. I'm headed back on 1/18 and we'll see at that time. It might be a little early yet to be pulling up there, but it should certainly be under way very soon. Late March can be awesome. Good luck

Turck, thanks for the info, I needed to dig to find Snobe's deal. I wouldn't have found them onmy own that's for sure.

Glad you found it. Wasn't sure if I could put their link up or not. I'll be seeing them next week. Even though I've run with Riverbend the past 9 years, we share some stories when I'm up that way. They are great guys, you'll enjoy both of the guys. They also will take care of cleaning and packing your fish, just as Riverbend will do.

I would also reccomend looking into the guided SnoBear trip that Sportsmans lodge offers. Fully guided day trip up north with everything included. All you have to do is show up at the front door of the lodge and get in!! Nice thing is that your able to be as mobile as you want all day long instead of being stuck in one house all day (not that this is a bad thing) but if the fishing is slow, you have the option to pick up quickly and move to a new location to hopefully find some biters!

NAMA: Good option for sure. Do you run yours for hire?

I will on occasion, don't do it a whole lot as I fish the Angle area a bunch and I tend to stay up there for the whole weekend. I do and I have done a few trips a year... I try not to turn pleasure into work though! Thanks.... grin

Thanks for the help guys, it turned out that Borderview was the only place that worked out as far as scheduling. So the trip is booked.

As soon as I started reading mind went to needles and seats.  You might want to try just replacing those first?  I’ve only done that once before in my life but it made the difference.  A carb refresh in 8,000 miles seems reasonable.

Good luck smurfy!  On getting drawn, I mean!   If it comes down to it, I know a guy that might be interested in a nice hide.

My 30 year-old Indy 500 (over 8,000 miles) has been having a mid-range bog for many years now.  It is worse on warm days and when the engine is warmer.  The sled runs fine up to about 1/4 throttle, then runs extremely rich up to 3/4 throttle.  The spark plugs are dark brown (better brown than down?) but not saturated.  8 years ago I moved the clips on the jet needles from the 3rd to the 2nd groove to lean the mixture and it helped for a while.   Should I move the clips to the top groove (temporary solution)? Could the jet needles, needle jets, and/or the main jets be warn and need replacement?   Don't think I will have time to tear the carbs apart this season for a rebuild so I may just band-aid the problem.

I think that Mike89 picked April 26 two hours before you, jparrucci.  Is that correct Mike89?

My last hide I gave to my Taxidermist friend to make what ever he liked out of it.   I've got a few fun Bear hunt stories to be told.  All 3 of us our first year stupidly tracking a blood trail in the dark together and getting lost, luckily smelled the bait making circles and got out. 🫣 Flash lights dying, deep in a swamp following a blood trail in the dark, the one who stayed at the bait called us back in!  We learned our second bear! Lol. 😞  Downing a wounded charging bear with the last bullet when tracking, no lie! 😬    Have had my fun!  🥳

I remember that kegel… stuff….!   just finished my post work latte as a matter of fact!  Only the second case of those I’ve ever bought.     I’d get Mike something better.

application has been submitted. 👍   Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.   i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested. 🙄 i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!
