Depending on what type of ice fishing tent you have, how many people you have, and the size of your dog, there's a great way we found to take our 60lb-ish dog with us ice fishing. We have a 3-seater Otter pop-out tent where the seats pop out of the sled. In place of where the seats are stored, we put a sturdy wooden board/ plank/ panel (make sure there is some kind of support to prevent the board from snapping if it's not a good ratio to your dog's weight, and our board is about half of the sled's length) after we put the seats up and it lays on top of the sled's width, so our dog can lay down; you can put a dog bed or some kind of soft material on top. Hope that all makes sense. He gets whiny at first cause he wants to be on the ground by the holes (he's a hunting dog, we can't blame him), but he gets used to his place and lays there while we fish and we don't have to worry about him getting hooked, or burned from the heater with him behind us and the seats blocking his path from jumping out. He is also still able to see us reel in a fish and get some fish kisses. He has enough room to stand and lay down and circle around to find a comfortable position. When he wants to go out, we fold the seats down and he's able to jump down and out the door (we have a flooring system so he can safely jump on the ground without sliding). The back of tent also has windows, so he's able to look outside as well. Having him off the ground also prevents him from getting cold (although he might prefer it sometimes). For a bigger tent, an elevated dog bed might help, depending on your dog, I suppose? BTW I know this is a super late post, but hope this helps someone!

(in the picture he is sitting at the edge of the board, there is more room to the left)

we take our dogs all the time. One doesn't like the floor so she just hangs out in the bed all day.

When he was younger I always went out with my little Bud man.  Now that he's 16 I leave him at home with the kids. Always got some laughs cuz nobody expected to see a long haired chihuahua pop out the neck of my jacket or roaming around looking for dropped minnows. Best fishing Buddy I could have asked for though.

Thanks for assisting me with my confusion, as your suggestions are very conceptual.
