Peterson fumbles.. AGAIN

Big A

Recommended Posts

I don't think that the Peterson fumble cost us the game, did it contribute to it, you bet your arse it did. To me, if the game is on the line, put him on the bench and let Chester do what he does best......catch the ball out of the backfield. Isn't that why we still have Chester on the team? I blame this loss on two things........The coaching staff and the offensive line. First half the line couldn't block a sloth as it went by them. THen the come out and play well, comes to overtime and they revert right back to sucking arse. Could the coaches see that neither one of our tackles can stop a pass rusher? Perhaps they should watch the film of how Williams completely shut down the great Jared Allen. That's how you block!!!

Childress once again proved that he is a COMPLETE MORON!!! Even the announcers said the only reason he got his extenstion was because of Favre. I think Chilly is the only person in the world that believes he got it because of his coaching. Don't know how many of you watched the post game press conference, but Childress basically blamed the terrible KO coverage on Longwell not kicking the ball deep enough and not getting enough hangtime on the kicks. Makes it too hard for our guys to cover it. When asked if he thought the offensive line needed more help/work, he said he can't blame them for not being able to pass protect or run block. Then two sentences later, he said "everything begins up front, and we didn't play well there" or something close to that. WHICH IS IT BRAD? Favre basically showed the world that he sucks as a coach on the goal line when Favre got pi$$ed at Childress for sending in a big goalline package when he wanted to stay spread out. Next play is a 1 yard loss.....they spread it out the next play and Peterson walks into the end zone! Chilly was asked about that in the press conference, and surprise surprise.....he couldn't remember what the reporters were talking about. Give him a nice severence package and hire a real coach.

I still take AP over anyone right now. Yes, ANYONE.

He literally punishes tacklers with his power. So he coughs one up avery now and then. Like stated earlier, at a much lesser pace then the greatest backs of all time.

Nobody has mentioned that he wouldn't even had the chance to "lose the game" if not for his great running in the second half, oh yeah he was catching passes too wink

Lot of haters here.

Don't know if there are "haters" as much as there are realists. Would we have lost the Steelers game had he held onto the ball? How about the nice highlight reels footage for the Packers as they took the ball from him and ran for a score......point being, that when the game is on the line, his track record aint the best!

That game was lost in their first half performance not but longwells kicks and not by petersons fumble. It was the coaching of the first half that did us in. Just my opinion.

Ratio of highlights of him breaking open for a huge gain and or running people over and him getting the ball punched out are 10/1 (probably more)

That's another thing. This guy isn't dropping the ball, he has guys literally throwing haymakers at him in hopes of knocking the ball out.

Either that or darn near yanking his head off by grabbing his face mask smirk

Yes, dtro how about that little face mask? The refs have been something else this season. Not just on the Vikings games but on all the games this season.

AP is the man, that dude on da bears made a good play. Like DTRO said, I'd take AP over anyone in the league.

But they don't cough up the ball.....lol! I would take AP over any other back as well, i'm not saying he is a bad running back! I'm saying that if he would protect the ball better he would without a doubt be the best in the league cause right now he is not!!!

I personally think AP is the best back in the league!!! He just doesnt put yards, and TDs he makes defenses change so Favre can throw the ball. I hope AP can get his fumbles figured out!

If any play would get it in his head to pay attention to how he carries the ball it was the fumble last night, and yes the vikes could have done alot of things better or different but in AP's mind right now he lost us the game!!

If the Yikes decided to play ball in the first half we wouldn't be sitting here pointing fingers at anyone.

How this team can show up and play like a bad high school team

in the first half is beyond me.

If you don't think Peterson's fumbling is a problem, then you are a dumb human.

If you don't think it cost us a game tonight...you are stupid.

Appearantly I am dumb AND stupid.

Im not the one comparing him to the greats you and others are so why should I explain what you want to understand. All I'm saying is I would rather have a dependable back like Smith who can give us 1200 to 1600 yrds, with out costing a game at a critical point in the season, over the likes of a Peterson type running back.

And............Just to illustrate how prolific AP has been so far in his career, This is how he stacks up so far with the 3 most prolific rushers in NFL history after 3 years in the league.

Emmit Smith

4213 yds

41 TDs

Walter Payton

3921 yds

34 TDs

Barry Sanders

4323 yds

43 TDs

Adrian Peterson

4430 yds

39 TDs

Looks like pretty elite company to me, and this season isn't even over yet!

Thanks Dave, that puts things into perspective.

Chris Johnson who?

I wouldn't exactly say that either though.

Chris Johnson has 3100 yds so far and 21 Tds in only 2 seasons. He seems to be legit as well.

Some one ounce said 1200 yrd backs are a dime a dozon, wonder who said that BigDave. grin Looks like we have a 1200 yrd back this year and one that cant hold onto the ball. I dont care what happened last year or what you may think will happen next year. The reality, Ha phoey you guys dont deal in realities only bragging rights. grin Admire and respect your convictions though .

Where's the fumble count for each? I'm not disagreeing with you, it would just be good to see those per-player as well. wink

No the realist. Maybe some one from the luv fest should be on the side line keeping his hands warm or at least have a room waiting for him after the game laugh

I still don't get what him being an elite rb has to do with his fumbling problem! Obviously we all know that he is a top notch back.......but he has a fumbling problem that he should fix!!!!

Can't give exact numbers but the Star Trib had a article a few weeks ago comparing APs first 3 yrs to Walter Payton and Eric Dickerson. AP had about 10 fumbles LESS than those other two. Just really bad timing last night. I've been a Vikes fan for 40 yrs, I'm used to disappointment hell I expect it! They don't make it past the first round this year! Sure am glad we extended that Putz of a head coachs contract.

All of this talk about elite RBs has taught me that I obviously have a different opinion on this title than the majority here.

IMO, an elite RB has the basic fundamentals down, including "PROTECTING THE [insert your best profanity here] BALL".

When AP can do that better, I will consider him an "Elite" RB.

Imagine if we had an elite offensive line this year... grin

Our guys seem to pass block whether it is a run play or a pass play...

It still wouldn't help his fumbling, but it certainly have him getting more yards. Now he has to make his own holes, there is nothing being opened for him.

I know this has nothing to do with his last fumble, but goes to the topic of yards for the season.

had several antenna's that way and still have a UHF one here!!!

Yep times are a changing. We used to bow hunt out a little shack along the snake river out of Pinecity.   The Vikings game came in a bit better on the black and white when we boosted my buddy up the tree, so he could hammer the rabbit ears up there. We could at least now see which team had the ball on the fuzzy screen! 🤣🤣

Ours came down to the ground on the outside of the house so we could just walk up to it for turning, and get yelled at safely. 😉

That antenna reminds me of my childhood. My father would have me go up on the roof and yell at me out the window to turn it certain directions for better TV clarity

Not sure how they did the wood back then, but now they have plastic I'm sure you could bend into a circle if yea needed. 👌

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.
    • leech~~
Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!
    • leech~~
Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁
