I'll try to get that 231" nontypical on here.

Cooter he did smell! But he was living in a swamp also. I did just get home from South Dakota chasing roosters but shot the buck in MN. Only my second buck been hunting MN deer for 8 years (never went before because i didnt want to deal with the masses) But learned quickly how lazy alot of people are-on state land- so we go where they will not go because they cant get their wheeler back there. We had a big chunk of land all to ourselves.

Where did you see that the shot was with open sights? Great shot if it is.

The Muzzy in picture on the front page of odn has a scope on it. I wish I was Chad Schumacher. He is one lucky hunter. Congrats smile

This is my biggest buck to date, as I only have hunted on public land in West Central Wisconsin-He came out and crossed a 30 yd wide swamp-Had 3 seconds to shoot-Worked out well-13 points with a 14th broke-Actually a main frame 10 with 5 stickers13PtBuck11-22-09029.jpg

Nice buck and welcome to FM! Did you get him in the Eau Claire/Clark county forests?

Posted

Between Tomah and Eau Claire in the State Forest-Looks like he belongs over in Buffalo County! Ha!

Thats a good deer anywhere, especially there on public land!

nice buck, gotta love the trash! grin

I thought the regs didn't allow scopes on muzzys for deer.

Posted

I'm pretty sure a scope is legal on a muzzy if it is during the rifle season.

Here is my small but first ever Montana Muley since moving out here last summer taken with my 270 from 300 yards 15 minutes after the Vikes Stomped Seattle! Not huge but my first. He will eat well there was alot of pressure this year and I didn't want to eat Tag Soup. Plenty of more years to take that trophy Muley. No Elk this year didn't have the time to get out in the back country a bag one.

Plus I have added a pic of my wife's boss' his first whitetail ever taken near Red Lodge, MT a nice 5X5 for his first deer. We baggged this one on Black Friday after Thanksgiving.
