Any gueses on score and age? I know the score, the teeth are in route to get aged.

145"

How much did Fatty weight?

He didnt get a "for sure" weight, but the general concensus was that he was in that 220-230 range...

Fatty for sure! 145-150"

Fatty for sure! 145-150"

Id agree and probably a 5 1/2 year old. Very nice!

Nice deer!!! I'd guess him at 150 maybe 155. Pictures never seem to do them justice, that's why I guessed a little higher than the rest.

140"

Nice deer guys!

You guys are getting pretty good at guessing the score.. He's a 148 n change, my guess was that he's a 5.5 year old....I thought he may have been 5.5 last year, but after seeing the progression from last year I gotta a good feeling he's 5.5, 6.5 may be a stretch, but we'll know after he gets the results back from the teeth!

Jnorm,

Is that a moultrie m 80 cam and do you like it? I have heard lots of negative review on them. I have a bushnell trophy cam now and would like to get 2 more cams. Just a couple quick pros and cons if you could. Does it delete pics fast. pretty tidious with the bushnell if you dont have a comp.

After missing out on the last couple years of firearms season while finishing up my undergrad in Wisconsin and working a position in Mississippi, I was able to get back out in the stand in 2012. Opening day had a gun malfunction on a VERY close range fawn but redeemed myself in big way Sunday morning, with the heaviest bodied deer we've taken from our deer hunting area (205 Pounds dressed) and a respectable 10pt along with the doe he was pushing hard. I also picked up a doe Monday morning while hunting back on my parents home place as well (the first we've harvested there since moving 15 years ago)

great deer everyone~!

fatty looks like 145-155 for sure! he's a hoss!

Buck, most people that have the M-80s love them. I have an M-80 and a M-100 and love them both.

The 100 has a built in viewer and you can find them on the e auction for around $150. Don't know

about deleting, I do all of mine on the comp.

Dang I was going to guess 146. I was thinking maybe 4 1/2, he's definitely not a young deer.

Once again had some "buck luck" on opening day hunting WMA in NW Minnesota. Couldn't see more than 30 yards from my stand as the snow had piled up on the buck brush and the wind was calm until the afternoon, but I setup in a high travel area along a river crossing. I first heard this buck splashing through the water after someone on the opposite side of the river took a shot at another deer and spooked him. The trusty Mossberg 500 with 2-3/4" Winchester Hollow Point did the job once again. I have now shot 5 bucks over the past six years along this river crossing including the one in my profile picture, he was the first of the 5.

Here's one I took on opening night of muzzleloader season. He came right to me chasing a fawn to about 50 yds then I let the smoke pole go and he went about 50 yds. Green scored at 164 gross 161@4/8 net. full-15319-27120-image.jpg

Posted

What a frame! What was his inside....22? Man, beauty of a buck and only a couple of point deductions. Nice work!

I forgot what a snow/deer picture looks like, really nice!

I would agree with that, saw 10 that day, not one in my subsequent hunts.

Nice job guys

Awesome buck! Have yet to kill a buck with my muzzleloader, 4 seasons with it and only pulled the trigger once on a nice big doe last year.

I got my first muzzleloader deer this year. Last year my gun went click at the worst time. Shipped the gun back for a new firing pin and this year it went boom when this guy snuck by at 10 yds on the 24th.

Those flooding problems are a sign of your needle and seat are leaking.  If the needle has a ring around the tip you can clean it if it's brass. If it has a black rubber tip then it needs to be replaced. You can clean the needle and seat with things like rubbing compound or even toothpaste I use a product called Semi chrome. It for polishing die pins. Just clean them up after polishing.

All of those Polaris sleds from that era were notorious for flooding and leaking. I've still got a 2003 XCSP 600 Edge that my daughter rides. As you noted, you need to shut off the fuel in those situations.

Yes, but it could make for an amazing walleye opener.

How old is your belt?   My old Polaris 4 wheeler with belt drive was bogging at mid range to top end last year.  Changed the belt and that problem went away.

Previous owner (22 years and 5,000 miles ago) said it was prone to flooding when sitting for a long time or trailering, so I shut the fuel off in both cases.   Primary is significantly worn.  I replaced several rollers and pins which helped.  I have two used clutches in much better condition that I could (and should) install.   It seems more like when I hit the throttle, but the bog could be from poor clutch shifting.  Will have to pay attention next time and inspect the clutches.  Thanks for the ideas.

Nope, he beat me fair and square, all his.  This weather had been depressing. As it sits now we are looking at a later than normal ice out. I hate scrabbling with docks, lifts, boats right before opener. Also limits some pre opener crappie chances.

👍 when/if i get drawn.....which i should know about june 1 we'll get in touch........both my kid and myself should get drawn.   and thanks.........with 6 preference points............i think are odds are pretty good.............there giving out 375 permits......and since we had yogi and booboo destroy my birdfeeders last spring......🙄

In those years Polaris was known to put buna tipped needles in there sleds. They get a ring around the seat and don't seal shut. But if that would be the case your problem would be with the motor shut off and filling the crankcase with gas. If your plugs are brown that is were they should be. I wouldn't drop that needle down to the last grove. I would replace them before I did that. I have never had a carb with that setting. Have you looked at your clutches? They could be dirty or have a bad roller.  Does it bog as it's accelerating or when you hit the throttle?

but if he really wants I can change the date..
