Here is the buck I shot on 10-30. He fooled me a bit from looking at the side, but he is still a solid buck. Ended up scoring 134".

This guy doesn't even compare to other pics, but with life and such haven't done regular deer hunting since 1998, maybe 4 times since then, but took this spike on 11/12.

Lots of great deer!

Fishuhalik, that was me. Glad you enjoyed the picture!

I've been hunting deer for 23 years. This is the first year I even saw a buck while on stand. Well worth the wait!! I'm hoping my daughter won't have to wait that long.

Nice animal, although your daughter won't have to wait 23 years, it does look like she will be waiting at least 7 wink Great buck!

I was just going through the obituaries in the Star Tribure 11/16 and noticed a pic that looked all too familiar...RIP Dustin

Wow, that is sad! R.I.P! At least he got to take one last nice buck before he was taken!

Very sad deal, prayers to the family.

That is so sad. I hope he is seeing a ton a huge bucks were he is now. So tragic. frown

Holy [PoorWordUsage], that is a sad deal. Prayers and thoughts to the family. His obit pic is the one on this site. It must have been a very happy moment for him. I'm sure it was tragic no matter what happened.

Posted

Extremely sad indeed, beyond prayers to the family, friends, coworkers, and beyond, that 2nd picture meatrun, are you sure he's not going to get up and run, that is a really neat picture.

Posted

That's terrible to hear! Prayers sent out to his friends & family. frown

Preyers and thoughts sent out to the family. Made me just relize why i let my son and doughter miss a few days of school to hunt with me. You just never no. How Sad

Anyone know what happend?

To me it really doesn't matter what happened all I know is that we lost a young person with a great passion for hunting deer. I was reading through some of his posts and you could just tell that he was really into bowhunting...sad loss of a hunter and a fellow member...I wish his family the best in these difficult times.

RIP DHost, the hunting is better where you are now.

sorry about the deer in back. totally didnt see it when posting. this was the smaller of the two bucks shot this season by our party. it just so happens that both were shot by myself. The other buck is an 11 point with a 22.5" inside spread and 8in bases. i would post pictures but cant be tailgate or hanging so will have to wait til shoulder mount comes back next fall. Personal best season to date!

As long as it is a fairly clean tailgate pic you can post it, policies have changed a bit still no hanging pic's please.

RIP DHost, thoughts and prayers to all the family and friends.

My last hide I gave to my Taxidermist friend to make what ever he liked out of it.   I've got a few fun Bear hunt stories to be told.  All 3 of us our first year stupidly tracking a blood trail in the dark together and getting lost, luckily smelled the bait making circles and got out. 🫣 Flash lights dying, deep in a swamp following a blood trail in the dark, the one who stayed at the bait called us back in!  We learned our second bear! Lol. 😞  Downing a wounded charging bear with the last bullet when tracking, no lie! 😬    Have had my fun!  🥳

I remember that kegel… stuff….!   just finished my post work latte as a matter of fact!  Only the second case of those I’ve ever bought.     I’d get Mike something better.

application has been submitted. 👍   Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.   i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested. 🙄 i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!

aw that date is fine and maybe someday we will have beer!!!

Something in May, like around Opener.  Could be white knuckles for boaters that weekend with the way things stalled out since the contest started and how thick it still is.   Highs in the 50’s coming but lows are around freezing and not a lot of wind in the extended forecast.   I’ll tell  ya what, if you change from 4/26 and it hits that date, I’ll buy ya some mythical FM beer.  And you know where you can find it. 😉. But don’t change on my account - this is still a free country!

I caught the 10pm news the other night. They said that starting next week Minnesota will be above average for temps. I give them a 33% chance of getting that right.
