I went to Elysian with my boat last week. Fished almost the whole lakeshore with floating raps and never had a bite. Didn't see anyone catch one on shore with live bait.

I was close enough to cast to shore was that to close?

Went to the MN River on the edge of St. Peter. Got one 14 inch sauger in about 2 hours yesterday afternoon. Didnt end up trekking over to Elysian. Just not enough time.

Anyone been catching anything out there yet? And are most people straight out of the landing just east of town?

Yes, 5 - 9" is accurate in most places but there is still some 2 - 4" stuff out there.

2" still? I would sure think that after the past couple nights, there wouldn't be much <4" stuff out there. Maybe I'm wrong.

I haven't been on Elysian but on some other area lakes I've found some huge varience in ice, not sure if it was from the strong winds/snow cover or current/springs. One lake had up to 18" of frozen slush with only a few inches of ice and a few yards away there was 10" of good ice, as well as a spot with only 4".

It's still early ice and by no means stable.

Has anyone one been out there how is the travel pretty easy going are there roads plowed or is the snow pretty passable. A guy I work with said one of his friends has a house out there and they have been getting a few eyes just wondering if anyone has been out there and how they did. I myself have never fished and was just looking for a little info on were to go or to start.

I heard (through the grapevine) that the O2 was tested recently and it was down to 3.2 ppm. Last week it was at 6. Dropping fast!

That must be on the end opposite the aeration system.

There is one on each side. I wonder who took those readings? Can anyone confirm any of this?

Yep times are a changing. We used to bow hunt out a little shack along the snake river out of Pinecity.   The Vikings game came in a bit better on the black and white when we boosted my buddy up the tree, so he could hammer the rabbit ears up there. We could at least now see which team had the ball on the fuzzy screen! 🤣🤣

Ours came down to the ground on the outside of the house so we could just walk up to it for turning, and get yelled at safely. 😉

That antenna reminds me of my childhood. My father would have me go up on the roof and yell at me out the window to turn it certain directions for better TV clarity

Not sure how they did the wood back then, but now they have plastic I'm sure you could bend into a circle if yea needed. 👌

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁
