Where to go help

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone,

We are going up to VNP this Saturday for a week on a houseboat. Considering the area is huge, is anyone willing to narrow down some fishing spots for me? We are starting at Crane but plan on hitting every lake in a big loop.

I have a GPS and Vex but no idea where to go - this is not my normal neck of the woods.

I will have my girls (10 - 12) and the other family will have 2 non-fishing kids from Florida. We are not really looking for hawgs but need the action to keep everyone interested primarily with wallys, bass and northerns. Planning on bringing leeches and crawlers.

Any help or specifics (privately if you prefer) would be greatly appreciated! The girls are counting down the days.

Thanks a lot.

IT GUY,

To tell you to fish this spot at this depth is not possible. Fact is the fish move around. I fish the lake every weekend and it is always a crapshoot as to where I will find the fish. I fish the west and center portions of Kab primarily. What I will tell you is to look at the map and try trolling in 25 to 30 FOW with a lindy rig and live bait around some sort of structure like a reef or an island. These waters are difficult and time consuming to learn. There is no magic formula. I have been putting my time in (nearly every weekend) for over ten years and am only what I would consider an average fisherman. If you are serious about getting fish think about hiring a guide to take you out for half a day to show you some spots. It may cost you a couple of hundred bucks but that is going to be your best chance of catching fish as a first timer. The gentleman that took me out and taught me passed away this spring. I learned more about fishing that day... Anyhow it is really money well spent! I wish you luck and hope you enjoy the area!
