It was a good time to bad you couldn't make it. NoNet boated one that was 23lbs! My pic of it didn't turn out so will have to see if PDOGG will post it.

As for the jetski, I think he was trying to spook the fish.

I got that pic sent to me, really made me wish I wasn't at work.

It's good to see that the jet skier was only concerned about the well being of the carp and not trying to be a jerk-bait by riding around that close.

The other day I was asked if there was a pattern to the Carp bite. So I went back in the records (My post on this forum) to see what I could find.

On the 28 of July it was the day of the first quarter moon. Cloudy skys. Wind NW

August 1st was 4 day before the full moon. Cold front air temps like late Sept. wind NW

August 4th They drag nets in Volney! Could have thrown every thing off. Day before Full Moon. Little to no wind

August 9th The middle day between Full and last quarter Moon. When we started fishing a NW wind was blowing and cloudy. At noon the wind was variable and the sky had cleared. The bite was best before the front moved in.

The best pattern I can find is NW wind before the Front. The only thing is the wind is supposed to come from the NW after a front. Strange year indeed!

I didn't want to retype all of this. So I linked from the Carp/real fish page.

I think it has been the most active area on this web site this weekend!
